Has anyone tried or contemplated installing one of the new Hemi's in the prowler. What's involved and how difficult will it be. Talk about a PROWLER!!! |

I have asked the question since the beginning...hope not to burst your bubble and I hope you can make it work....BUT....the computer for the Prowler and the 5.7 Hemi uses a different processor ands isn't compatible. The transmission must get info from the engine computer to shift properly. I think this would make a great poll. WE NEED NUMBERS of the number of Prowler Owners that would be interested in making such a swap. ------------------ |

Did I Say 5.7 Hemi Computer . Not ! The only info any trans computer needs is speed sensor rpm & mph. Im sure i can pick that up somewhere . |

Hi, About a year ago I spoke with the guys who put the 426 hemi in the Pt cruiser(www.hemicruiser.com) and they were going to do the same engine swap in a prowler.I don't know if it ever happened but they seemed to think that they could do it,no problem. I'm sure this would entail a lot of bracing and fabrication. I think they were going to use a viper tranny and a vette rear but I could be wrong since it was a year ago. They do know alot about hemi swaps and may be able to help. Just a thought. |

I was wondering when you we're going to put a "Hemi" in one of these Kat's with all your other Hemi's it was only a matter of time, looking forward to the pics and updates.. PK |

To answer Wildcat's question, I would do the hemi thing in a second, assuming it works flawlessly, look professional and is not extremely expensive. I certainly like the idea better than a supercharger. Just think of it, A HEMI PROWLER. How much better can it get. Now when you open the hood, you have something to show that that we havn't seen in a long time. |

Because of interest if you can make it work and duplicate the process with brackets and others needed fab work you could sell kits once it is done and proven. |

I hope you post pics of the install as you progress.. There is no better sound to the ears than a "HEMI" roaring, and to hear that coming from a Kat gives me goose bumps just thinking of it. LOL PK |
