Hello all, I wanted to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you on the Prowler Owner’s Association Board for your excellent help, suggestions and resources in aiding in my Prowler search. This past Saturday, I purchased a brand new ’01 Chrysler Prowler in Prowler Orange with a grand total of 4 miles on the odometer. It was sitting at a little backwoods dealership in Kentucky and they were really nice people. They gave me a great deal on my Corvette for trade-in and I got an even better deal on the Prowler since it had been there for two years. I got everything I wanted and it’s even the color I wanted too so I am very excited about it. All I can say about the Corvette is good riddance. I must say, the Prowler sure does attract a lot of attention. I had people starring, trying to catch me on the highway and even honking at me on the way home to Indiana. I have a few small bugs that need to be fixed under warranty, but that is ok. I have a wheel/tire vibration. I expect that this originates from the car sitting so long in a stationary position and the tires may be flat-spotted or a wheel may be out of balance. So, my local dealer is going to look at the tires and check the wheels for balance. Also, the gas gauge does not go past ¾ tank when the car is full. So, the dealer is going to replace the body ECM most likely. Finally, when I got the car home, I wanted to check and see if it might have a loose lug nut that was causing my vibration. I was as careful as could be, but I broke two of the plastic clips off on the center caps. So, my local dealer is going to replace them under warranty. Sorry, I don’t mean to ramble on. I am just so excited about my new Prowler and I’m glad to be a part of the Prowler Owner’s Association. Again, thank you to everyone for everything. ------------------ |

Congrats on your Kat purchase. Look under search and check out the "hot glue gun fix" for your center caps. It does work, and if you do them all as I did, you shouldn't have any more problems. If you don't, you'll be breaking them all the time.(real pain in the rear). Make sure that they(the dealer) makes good on your vibration. Probably is from sitting so long but modern radials should smooth out in twenty to fifty miles or so(with proper balancing)I'm not sure about run-flats, however. Jim |

Remember, try and find a set of front mud flaps so you won't get chips all over the sides of the Kat (hard to find right now) and install ceramic brake pads immediately so as to not to have to be cleaning brake dust all the time. Jim |

BM, CONGRATULATIONS! WELCOME! Best tip I heard from the board is to use half of a spring clothespin to remove the center caps. Please post detailed description of the vibration problem, especially if wheel balance/alignment doesn't solve it (note that you need a 4-wheel alignment since the rear is adjustable). Good luck. You'll love it (some vibration seems to be normal, but you'll learn to love it. It's part of the character). -GRROWL |

Good luck with the new TOY! Are you sure it's the gauge that's wrong? Sometimes you have to tip the gas nozzel handle up to get a full tank. |

Hey Booster, Welcome! You did the Right thing by seeking out (and getting)the color you wanted. I'm not intending to start a color battle, but that Plymouth Orange Sparkle is my wife's favorite color (and I agree it's awsome!) Glad you are with us...it's a great group of folks..with a great website. Jack and Chromer ------------------ |

Congratulations on your Prowler! Where did you get it in Kentucky? Also make sure you are really filling the tank full. I thought mine was bad until I read the threads about fueling the car and learned how to get it full. Hold the nozzle in the two o'clock position. |
