The lift looks great, can you open the garage door with the car in the uppermost position?, or do you have to change the tracks? |

Sorry Paul. The lift is from Cytech called Double Park. They are one of the few lift compaines that actually make their own lifts. Their web site is http://www.doublepark.net My ceiling height is about 9' 5" which is just enough for two lower type cars like prowlers, corvettes etc. In other words cars that are around 4' tall. Yes I had to have a garage door company come out and move everything up. They installed all new rails, new springs, pulleys, cables and move the garage door openner. All for around $400. Cost and what has to be done will depend on what you have. As for example a friend of mine is doing his for around $300. A trick if the garage door might hit the car when it is up is to back the car on so your hood is facing the door. If anyone has any questions I'll be happy to answer them. I can even set up a large purchase deal with Double Park. I just did this for my Corvette club members and were able to save them around $500 on the cost of the lift. |

Wild1, your lift is similar to my www.backyardbuddy.com , with a 9'5" ceiling it would seem you would be a little low to get a full lift. I've owned mine for five years and it's been a great piece of equipment, Backyard also makes there own lifts. |

quote: I spoke with Darren at Cytech DoublePark this past week and he has offered to set up a group purchase here at the POA. I'll have more details soon, but there should be a considerable savings for those of you interested in purchasing a lift. I'll be setting up a new Group Purchase forum in the Classified Section and hope that other manufacturers will also participate in offering group deals to pass on some additional savings. ------------------ |

Mike, I'm sold on Cytech/Doublepark and definitely want one for my new garage, but want it to be able to lift about a foot higher than stock. I have plenty of ceiling height. Count me in - I would need delivery in June or July. I really like the quality and smooth operation of their lifts. |

The normal price is around $3400 but as I mention I got a group purchase price and save few hundred dollars. I'm sure Mike can put together a similar deal working with Double Park. Al you are correct I cannot get a full lift. I have about 52" under the prowler for another car. However I might box the ceiling which will buy me another 6". Ask Back Yard Buddy I think their lifts are made in Texas? |

hey Guys/Gals... I am am in the process of becoming a dealer for Snap Lock Industries. They are sending a packet with info and dealer pricing. If possible I would help anone get this flooring at a discount rate. I will post results when their packet arrives. For those that don't know, I'm a tile contractor and this is a great solution I can offer my clients that have expressed interest in doing their garage floors. Thanks again Wild 1!!! The lift is free standing. No need to bolt it to the floor. In fact there are optional casters (wheels) so you can move the lift around. Even outside to your driveway. Height depends on what you want to do. If to store another car under then you need to add the heights of the cars plus around 9". Otherwise if just to work under the car then 8 feet is enough. My ceiling is 9'5" which gives me about 52 1/2" under the prowler. I plan on cutting a hole in the ceiling and making a kind of box where the prowler roof will fit into which will give me another 6" maybe more. |
