To Everyone:

I will start checking to see what kind of deals we can get for hammocks (not cots) because if you guys get a divorce then you can hang a hammock from the lift and sleep there. I'm just kidding too! If you guys need them, I have pink permission slips that I can fill out for your wife. I will also post the Special Offer in the Group Purchase section to help kick that off. Everyone please refer there for comments, questions, and ideas. Here is the Special Offer for the Double Park Lift:

Prowler Members:

Key features of the Double Park DP-7 Lift from Cytech. You can visit their web site at http://www.doublepark.net

Here are some of my reasons for choosing Double Park:

1. They make their own lifts.
2. The height of the lift of 78.25" makes it easy to roll out under your garage door. The width of 92" will fit your
Prowler but won't take up your whole garage.
3. 30 day money back guarantee
4. Only the Double Park has been independently tested to exceed the ANSI service lift criteria. It passes the
commercial lift standard of 7,000 lb rating.
5. The sliders are in enclosed columns. No exposed moving parts. They do not require lubrication.
6. Thick ramps, 3/16" thick diamond plate steel, one piece.
7. Large cylinder and has a flow restrictor to allow the lift to ease itself down to the next safety stop in the event
of accidental hose failure.
8. The optional casters are mounted to the lift in such a way that unlike some of the others you don't have to
lift the post to install them. Just lower the lift onto the casters and roll it where you need to. No pain no strain.
9. The other good news in the long term is the repair of the Cylinder. Unlike others, if you have a failure you have
to buy a new Cylinder when the warranty is over. With Double Park you can buy a rebuild kit for like $50 vs hundreds of dollars to buy a whole new cylinder.
10. It's easy to install and good looking which is also important. They also use UV powder coating so the lift will
hold up better if you decide to install it outside.

Now the good news, the price. If you ever priced the Double Park you'll find they are a little more money then
other lifts. Simple reason, you get what you pay for.

Normal retail price for this lift is $3,395.00 including shipping.

The Prowler special purchase for the Double Park is as follows:

Purchase this lift for only $2,900 including 2ea drip pans and shipping. Also all optional items are 10% off. However this price is only good until March 31st. After that the price goes back up, period.

Here's how it breaks down:

ITEM Normal Price Prowler Online Price
--------------- ------------- ----------------
LIFT $3,395.00 $2,900.00 including 2ea drip pans and shipping in continental US
CASTER KIT 345.00 310.50
Aluminum Ramps 285.00 256.50
Jack Tray 85.00 76.50
Drip Trays (2) 40.00 Free
TOTAL $4,150.00 $3,543.50

So you're saving over $600!! You can buy just the lift or add any above options listed here or on their
web site.

Now one catch, to get this price we need to buy at least 11 lifts.

So what's the next step.
Contact Steve Clark at 1-937-292-3357 or e-mail Steve at s.clark@hbdthermoid.com

To order your lift you need to contact Steve Clark 937-292-3357. Using your credit card you put down a 25%
deposit. When they are ready to ship your lift they will charge your credit card with the balance. Let Steve know
you want to be part of the Prowler Online website purchase

Now I know some of you might be saying I want the lift and not lose this great price but I'm not quite ready
yet. So here is more good news, for a $100 deposit payable only by check they will hold your lift order for a
maximum of 90 days at the above price. Speak with Steve and let him know how long it might be before you are
ready to receive your order. The reason we are allowing for this is that there may be some people who are interested
but are either building or remodeling and cannot quite accommodate the lift as yet.

Double Park by the way will do custom stuff like locks, colors, size, etc. Contact Darrin for more info.

Please e-mail Darrin if you have any questions at darrin@doublepark.net if technical questions or customization needs.

Note: If 11ea units are not ordered, the price quantity breakdown is as follows

1-5 units $3150.00 w/2ea drip trays and freight in continental US incld - 10 % off options
6-10 units $3050.00 w/2ea drip trays and freight in continental US incld - 10% off options
11+ units $2900.00 w/2ea drip trays and freight in continental US incld - 10% off options

Thanks

Hey wait a minute I wrote all the above stuff!

I must be good. Isn't there copyright laws. Just kidding, happy to see all my research didn't go to waste. My members ended up buying 22 lifts from Double Park.

One piece of advice if you can wire for 220v then go for the 220v 2hp motor for greater lift speed.

To everyone:

Someone made a suggestion on the Group Purchases board to update with a reply to this topic to remind everyone about the special offer for the Double Park Lift. We only need 4EA more orders to offer the best price schedule.

I apologize I have not been online for a couple of weeks because I was at a trade show in St. Louis and then I took my daughter snow skiing for spring break.

If anyone has any questions you can e-mail me at darrin@doublepark.net

Thanks,

At this price, I can't believe that there aren't four more players out there. If the Camaro club can manage to purchase 22 lifts, surely the Prowler owners & their FRIENDS can surely round up four more buyers for a measly ten. Can we extend for a few days? Any ideas out there?

Maybe I shouldn't have shared the facts on the trailers and diverted attention away from this opportunity.

Think of your friends here everyone. I need the good price here. I'm broke from funding all the goodies for guys.

To everyone:

I will talk with our people here at Cytech Double Park, LLC. to ask about an extension. There are a couple of reasons for this: 1) I would like to see you guys make the discount; 2) Since I have been gone (snow skiing) I have not been much help for you guys. We have a potential customer in Florida who is looking to purchase 4ea for himself. He is going to need at least 1ea lift to be customized. I am working with him now. Hopefully I can push that deal through and we can get you the 11ea discount.

Thanks,
Darrin Schmidt

Regarding the other postings on this website regarding the four post lift that failed recently. How does the Double Park compare? And it seems I read that the lift should be bolted to the floor. This one indicates that it is free-standing. It looks great and the price is outstanding and the representative sounds like a great guy. Can anyone out there clear any of this up? Thanks in advance!

I've had 3 lifts in my garage nearly four years now and have never had any problems with the lifts moving or shifting. My lifts are not bolted down, now if you live in California or other earthquake prone areas, it might be a good idea to bolt the lift down.

Laddie, that post was actually on the viperclub.org site.

A man with a Corvette on top was apparently trying to lock the car in a raised position when one of the corner locks would not engage. It seems that he tried to raise and lower the lift to try to get it to engage. In that process, it seems, that the corner not engaging went down too far compared to the other 3 locked corners and the cable came loose off of the pulley and that corner collapsed. This pulled the whole lift down toward that corner.

Please for actual accounts from the owner and pictures, see the original posting:

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=258483&page=1

or see the Viperclub response on this topic at:
http://vca1.viperclub.org/ubb/Forum14/HTML/010156.html

note: this group buy was also mentioned on viperclub.org to help get some more interested in the group buy

The lift that had a leg collapse was not on this forum but on the Corvette Forum and it was not a Double Park lift. The failure seem to be at least partially the fault of the owner as well. Also note and I'm not saying this is the reason but the other lift vertical legs are only 1/8" thick where as Double Park legs are 3/8" thick. Also on the other lift there was an issue with the cable coming off the pulley. If you look at the Double Park lift you will see this is almost impossible with the pulley covers they use.

Come on people ... don't let one moron and his ineptness (or just incredible misfortune) scare you away from making a sound purchase and a wise investment (if you are a true car enthusiast and have the space in the garage for a lift, this IS a must have).

Also .. Like Mike K. no bolts here to the floor, no cracking in the concrete, no nuthing BAD ... Go with DoublePark and rest assured that your experience will only be pleasant.

Oh, and to those that have made mention, you DO NOT need 220v either ... compare the lift rates, it is so insignificant, it isn't worth what you will spend to have the electrical done to your garage.

From a satisfied customer.

Ray, on the 220v. Are you talking about the 220v 1hp or the 220v 2hp? I agree there is no speed difference with the 220v 1hp but I was told by Double Park that the 220v 2hp is twice as fast.

To everyone:

I did not put this paragraph in the group purchase threads. I feel that it is important that I respond to the news of a lift failure and where I at least personally stand. Please read the following comments and if anyone has any questions or comments feel free to post here publicly or e-mail me at darrin@doublepark.net .

There has been some very interesting news in the 4-post lift industry as many of you are already aware of. I have had some time since I have returned from snow skiing to view the comments and pictures of the lift failure that occurred. Here are some of my personal comments and do not necessarily reflect the views of anyone else:

I am glad no one was injured in the failure!

1) I feel my job here is to try and be as unbiased as I possible can.
2) All 4-post lifts, including the Double Park, are not REQUIRED to be tested. The people in our company chose to test our lift with a 3 to 1 test ratio.
3) The failure that occurred in all honesty CAN HAPPEN to any lift that is out there. Reason: The lift is mechanical and must be treated and respected as a mechanical object. Just as a car is mechanical and needs to have oil changed, a lift has points that must be visibly checked and possibly periodically maintained.
4) These types of lifts have been designed to operate so easily for convenience that is often forgotten and overlooked that it is MECHANICAL.
5) I personally am sympathetic and apologetic to the customer and even the lift company this happened to. I also understand that this does not just effect those directly involved (the customer and the lift company) it effects the industry as a whole. Granted it does not effect us nearly as bad, but none the less it still effects us.
6) Therefore I feel my job right here in the present is to try to be as informative, honest, and available as time passes and more information unfolds. I refer everyone back to statement #2 - The lifts of this type are not required to be tested - DO NOT just take someone's word - research the product(s). Remember it is not about a $3000.00 +/- lift, but rather your cars and life that is involved and are much more important than the lift.
7) My intention is to forward the link to the forum this was announced on to our engineer that tested our lift have him give us some feedback. The reason for this is to make sure that we are not leaving something undone and to have a professional pair of eyes (who is third party) put his perspective on the issue.
8) I will keep everyone here posted as I know there are some people on the fence as to purchase a lift (any brand). I do not blame anyone for being more skeptical now. I would feel the same as all of you considering a lift.

Concerned,
Darrin Schmidt
