What is the difference in lift speed with the standard 1HP motor wired 110 volts or wired 220 volts?

Scott,

I was told that the standard motor is 1 HP. 110 or 220 - same speed.

Scott:

Steve is correct. What actually determines lift speed is horsepower, not voltage. Therefore the 1hp 110V/220V motor will lift the same speed whether you have it wired 110 or 220. I recommend leaving the 1hp motor 110v because it draw such low amperage anyway.

If you have want a faster lift speed you have to increase horsepower. 2hp motor. the 2hp single phase motor can also be wited 110 or 220. However I recommend 220 because it draws so much more amperage.

A 2hp 220v 3-phase motor must be wired 220v.

I hope that helps!

Thanks,
Darrin Schmidt
