Rich, I like your Purple Prowler way more than that one. I do not go for the radical custom look. Yours is clean looking yet classy with what you have done. Some go overboard in my humble opinion. (Well, not REAL Humble). lol ------------------ |

I like it! The headlights and grille make it look more like a hot rod! The flame job is awesome! ------------------ |

Larry, I like the understated better than the overt. The only two radical cats that I have seen and like are Wildcat's and John's Chrome Illusion, if you call those two radical. I don't care for the round headlights, personally. Maybe I would like the pictured one more if I saw it in person. I don't think I have ever seen JD's car. I like that paint combo, also. ------------------ |

Does anyone recognize this car? I assume that the gatefold is from Super Rod magazine. Chip Foose relocated the front wheels forward, cut the shovel nose grille back into the hood, extended the rear fenders and fabricated a rear roll pan ala '33 Plymouth. Lingenfelter installed an LS1 Corvette C5 engine and transaxle. The owner?? Dick Marriott from the hotel chain & GM Board member. The car looks better in person that the photograph reveals. |

Of all the modifications I have seen done to a Prowler there is only one that I really don't like, the round headlights. I think the Prowler headlights are one of the most distinguishing characteristics of the car. They are awesome in my opinion. Of course, I am not knocking anyone else's choices this is JMO. To each his own. ------------------ |

Rich - Isn't this the same car you posted a photo of last year without flames sitting in a car show? Even though I have my black car flamed, I think I liked it better all black. Would love to have that much power though!!! Larry - yes - I am adding round lights. They will be mounted lower, centered up and down next to the hole where bumpers use to attach to frame. I bought two motorcycle lights made for an older Harley with chrome, bullet shaped housings. I am extending the top six fins on the grill back about 15 inches into the space where headlights use to be and then having panel fabricated with five rolls of double two inch louvers spaced an inch apart at same angle as gap between headlihts and side panel. Kind of a cross between the Paxton and the So-Cal Prowlers - it will definitely be different. Ed & Niteman - I won't be offended because you don't like the look. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I just think the round lights are more in the spirit of the old hot rods and no one will mistake my CAT for the other blacks in town. I should get it back on Wednesday, then if my fender is finished at same time, I can take to Taylors House of Color for paint along with installation of chrome engine rods and braces. I will post photos soon I hope. Happy Prowling

Marty - its your cat, so do what you wish to it. I like the look of round if done right, and your cat will stand out from the others. Besides, you'll have the new G Spot gear kit installed by then, so ZOOM-ZOOM-ZOOM.

I think I am really going to like it. Still trying to decide wether to have louvers facing in to feed air into engine bay or out to suck some air out of bay. The fabricator has to make each side seperately. He made a pattern for driver's side and reversed it for other side but I guess due to each car being handbuilt it was off by over 1/4 inch. It will be unique for sure. Depending on paint shop time I should post images next week!! Marty ------------------ Driving my Dream |

Marty, it is your car and you paid for it so you don't have to please me. I may like your round headlights but so far I have not seen any that I think are an improvement. Sometimes I am slow to catch on and things grow on me over time. Sometimes a picture does not do justice to what something really looks like. A perfect example is beautiful scenery. It is very hard to capture the effect. John & Debbie's chrome illusion is much better in person than what any picture can convey. I had a few negative comments about my red bumpers from the pictures but after people saw them in person they changed their mind. How many totally stock prowlers are still out there? Not many. And I was one who thought they were perfect as they rolled off the line but there are some modifications that definitely enhance the look. Do your thing. ------------------ |

John - I saw one car at Woodward that used Prowler headlights and wheels. It is ironic the way some hot rodders are using our parts. Hopefully I will get to post pics soon. The fabricator doing grill work is a father/son team and I just found out both are out with the flu. To complicate it, the guy that will paint it will be out of town next week so I may end up driving it around without the new parts painted for a while. BTW - the pics you and Dan took at the Roadster Show were awesome. I thought I had posted a reply but it must of disappeared into cyberspace somewhere. Marty ------------------ Driving my Dream |
