Some of you may know I have been looking for my Prowler for a couple months now. I think I found a great deal on one in Tx. I was going to have it shipped to me in FL, but I decided to drive it home. Is this crazy? I know the car has a small tank and almost no trunk, but what else should I know before I hit the road. Also will a fairly flat garment bag fit in the trunk? I'm actually looking forward to the drive, but I am a little worried about stopping for the night and the car getting messed with. Any input is welcome! )I got screwed by the dealer!!! They backed out on me!!! I will post on it on another topic! ------------------ This message has been edited by C5 Frank on 01-23-2002 at 10:16 AM |

GO FOR IT!!!!! I bought mine in MD and drove it to FL and then moved to NJ. Drove it all the way. Yes a garment bag will fit. There isn't alot of room but there is enough. Taking your cloths out and spreading them around the trunk helps. It shouldn't be a problem but it WILL be a GREAT time. Voodoo |

Install front mud flaps when you pickup the car, so you don't get chips in the paint on the drive home. ------------------ |

C5 - VooDooMan is correct - a fold over suit/garment bag works perfect with enough room for your soft leather Corvette duffle bag. I drove mine 1400 miles back home to Az. and had to find a plastic surgeon to get the smile off my face. Plan on stopping for fuel every 200-250 miles, which you'll need to stretch out your legs anyway. Load up the passenger seat as well - cooler, shave bag, shoes, etc. ------------------ |

What color cat did you get???? There was a silver one on Ebay this last week from Texas. I think this 2001 sold below 36K. |

Drive it! Where in Texas? Maybe we can have a send off for you. Small tank yes, but you will still get 225 miles to the tank on the way home. Well worth the drive...so many smiles to the miles. ------------------ |

Installing the front flaps before the trip is very very good advice. ------------------ |

In my humble opinion this very kind of Dealer BS is one of the major reasons the Prowler did not sell to DC's expectations. This really jacks my jaws. ------------------ |
