Quick update.... Finally going to get the first four sets shipped this week... I miss judged the length of bolts I needed to attach the bars on to the brackets so had to order new ones 1/4" longer... I had hoped to a rough polish of them for everyone but sprained my wrist at work so they will have to go as they were received from the machine shop. I put about 90 minutes on one set before the injury and got them looking nice... I can't say how grateful I am for all your patience... these pictures are of the final fit all tightened up.. I am going to wait until everyone gets theirs before I get a set myself, I haven't got the Hellkat on the road yet this year... |

Jim you can put me at the end of the list,,, I am not going to install mine till next winter because I will have to make another plate bracket to accommodate the nose guards. No use of them sitting around my shop when another member can install them now. Thanks Jim for all your hard work on the nose guards,,, do not forget about me now, LOL. LD |

XP, what is the final cost on these and how fast will they produce the rest. Will they be done for this summer or a long drawn out production based on when they have time. thanks |

Hey guys I just bought a 2001 Black Tie with less than 3,000 miles and I too would like to get a set of nose guards! Please add me to the list for an entire kit (including supports). I also intend to do some modifications of installing a nitrous kit, lower rear gears, modified ECM and TCM modules, TGF side engine panels, and chrome front suspension. If anyone has any other modifications that they have found to be effective in improving performance I would be interested in hearing from you!! |

3 of the first 4 sets have been shipped, the 4th will go out on Monday... tips for installation: remove grill so you can position the U bolts remove the bolts holding the horns, slide the horns out of the way to make tightening the ubolts from under the car easier. the rear bracket utilizes the holes already there. this is under the battery pan. the heads for the small 3/8 x 3/4 bolts face the ground and the nut and washer go just under the battery pan. you may want to back off the bolts under the battery that hold the plastic pan on to get more room to install the nuts.... I will try to get some pictures up tomorrow to make these instructions more clear... |

Looks like shipping will be around $50... I will have a better idea when I send the 4th set out on Monday. Not sure about an additional run as far as when they could be done.... I have another machine shop that could do this if the original guys can't do them quickly.

Nose Guards installed... What a fantastic job.. Time and patients to install. Pre thread all bolts to make sure they thread right. Easy to adjust when positioning them....
thank you again Jim for a great job... time consuming job... This message has been edited by robin on 05-17-2016 at 06:40 PM |

A couple of people have pm'd me about the hood scoop. Jim Michaud in Phoenix AZ did the scoop and paint work. I'm just the current custodian of this cool ride. John Ross had the car built many years ago. It started life as a 99 yellow. The scoop is functional as it has 2" holes cut out of the underside of the hood. |

Hi Dan,... sorry I didn't reply to your pm... I thought I did but checked and was mistaken. my apologies. I have had very little time to do much other than work...Yesterday I made a deal with a different machine shop to make 7 more sets... the first shop wanted 10 sets before they would make any and would had to fit them in their schedule which means weeks... the new guys have already made the bracket and are working on the bars next week. the price is still the same... I still don't have a set myself but have put over 600.00 out of my pocket into the R&D... I hate this thing dragging on but am doing the best I can... I will get back to everyone soon... thanks for the patience.. Jim |
