I figured I would start this one with all the interest in power and performance for the Prowler that is being talked about as far as the engine... The 5.0 that I'm talking about is the Mile Hi 5.0 engine.. I have had my hand in the last couple of them and we have worked together to produce some amazing, reliable, power from the "Stroked to the Max Little V/6... I have learned all of the secrets from the Mad Scientist himself.. I am working on one as I post this, and yes there will be more... After you have driven a Prowler with a 5.0 stroker in it, you just have to have one.. I'm thinking that a lot of these cars are starting to get up in miles.. So because of that, it makes sense for me to market a 5.0 replacement.. A replacement that is a bolt in, looks like what was put in there from the factory, but because of it's Mega Cubes it will blow the doors off a stock Prowler and a lot of other cars out there, while still having the reliability to drive it to a out of town event and have fun with it and then drive it home... Sure there will be others out there that will have something faster, something bigger, as there always will be.. The 5.0 can be done, it has been done, and it will be done and I will have my hand in it to make it happen... I'm still crunching numbers on cost and what kind of packages they will come in so help me decided, give me some input... It's like anything out there, the more there is, the cheaper they are... Send me a E mail to jcollinshemi@yahoo.com if you have interest... Put Prowler in the topic and just tell me what your looking for... Thanks, John(onecatnodog)Collins

Onecat your the man! So glad to see someone do it right! I think you may see alot of orders! The 5.0 is amazing and the prowler world really needs a strong V6 option that is realiable and more bolt in! You have done so much for so many people so this one will be right!

I cannot tell you how many of times I watched all of the videos from you guys out in colorado!! Can't wait to see some more from you!
My drive in one 5.0 changed my entire perspective and desire for the car forever! It is awesome!

How about Feel the power with a milehigh style.

Great news John.... Its awesome to see the dedication you have for the Prowler...

I have exceeded the 83,000 mile mark on my car and was trying to plan for the future regarding the engine, this will be another option to explore. The beauty is that it will bolt right in without fabrications...

Can't wait to find out more details in hopes that the pricing is something I can live with...

Your the man Johnny !

The 5.0 Stroker is an amazing upgrade. It puts the ride in another dimension. I put mine in when I had 82,500 miles on the stock engine. My Cat now has 149,000 miles on it. That means my 5.0 engine has 66,500 miles, and still running strong.

Love it - a whole new world...

A stroker engine will give you the needed power with tearing up the car substantially. You still need to watch the 3-4 shift at WOT.

Hey Bob! You mean 'without' tearing up the car substantially, right?

I rebuilt the transmission at 120,000 miles with a new torque converter and heavier duty clutch plates. I drive it fast sometimes, but I don't abuse the power. No hole shots. I know it will do it, but why tear tread off expensive tires and beat up the drive train?

Can't spell, don't know grammar...you got the idea. Dean understood what it took. An increase in stroke and increased plenum volume.

I have always wanted a stroker motor but the price has always been well beyond my range. I will be interested to see what the pricing on this will be.

Great news, John. Who's your second build designated for? Because I know you are first on the list.

I know first hand that you can put together a 5.0. And in short order. Thanks once again.

Are you still aiming at a one or two month turn around time?

Might you be offering some of the 5.0 options that aren't directly drive train related? Like rear upper control arms to accommodate 15" wheels? Hint, hint.

Very best wishes on your 5.0 building. I've seen some of your helpers on MileHiProwlers.com. They are all very nice.
I hope that you'll still have time to get behind that camera. I need my weekly fix.

Anyone looking for a good, solid Prowler Shortblock Core to start out with, check out my eBay auction: http://www.ebay.com/itm/370687386082?ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1586.l2649
This way you wont have to tear your car down to build a 5.0.
And this is a real Prowler Engine, NOT one out of a 300M.

There might be some throttle body concerns.
When I received mine, there had recently been six dual throttle bodies run on a CNC machine, all of which are designed for the top of the motor.

I suppose you could use the stock throttle body, but it is most probably too small for optimal performance. Maybe John has some other ideas in mind.

This is an official warning! If your like me and get really excited about the 5.0, hemi, paxton, 4.3 and gofast prowlers in general you got the bug and its addicting!
Sign number one you start asking alot of questions?
2 you start watching everything on you tube. Old posts, websites, that say prowler etc.

If you get in one and drive it your world and view may change forever!

If this is you start saving and call onecat or the option of your choice!
Your just about ready for the fun!

It's like the first time you saw a prowler and just had to get one

Just one word of advise no matter what option you choose it's an investment for you and the builder. Being such a low volme car it takes a special builder and car owner working together with trust and a true passion for the car to actually invest the time and effort it takes to do one from mild to wild. So keep that in mind it's a partnership. I never talk about price that's between you and the builder, but trust me none of them are getting rich, and it takes alot of man hours, custom parts and time for them to do it right including a 5.0.

Enough of that I'm gonna feed some of you 5.0 speed junkies! Hold on tight and get your pocketbooks ready!! Ha ha

One of my favorite eds Kat.

First met him on the high way in flordia on the way to pigeon forge smokies with the flordia Kat crew. He pulled up to about 7-10 of us at a gas station a heard calm roar coming from like 5 blocks away up came a black Kat with a hillborn scope! I had no idea what it was but it was rocking!
Also spent a day with him 2-3 years ago for a drive oh baby! I know why he has 140k on his car!

I posted feel the power above here a few more old school 5.0 ones from Dan Pena from back in the day! The sound alone grabs ya which is not just a loud muffler it's the motor! No replacement for displacement! I cannot tell you how many times I watched these back in the day!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e3UQr3IlqWY
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oeVnhbPcZ3w
http://youtu.be/cf7ZZKykfJ8

Drooling yet? hopefully these posts may help bring new round go fast options a reality for owners! With volume comes scale for builders so Have fun with it! gotta love all gofast options and those that are not afraid to roll the dice take a risk and go bold!

I have it from a horses mouth that you are looking at about $30K for a hemi conversion. There are probably extras on top of that if you want to add some bells and whistles or extra body work/paint.

Wow I can not believe the interest in the 5.0... Way more than I could dream... Looks as if I will stay busy if I can make the cost and turn around time work... Thank you all for the E mails and the post here on this topic... You all have made me re think this venture as it looks like the time is right to do it... I have one right now that I need to finish up and the first of the year I should know were I stand... To answer some of the questions that have been asked.. The 5.0 doesn't need the cool threw the hood intake to work, as it can be a under the hood sleeper running factory intake and exhaust making it look stock.. Of course the more up grades means more power and of course that means more money.. What I am thinking is to pick up some used complete running 3.5 engines from around the $500.00-$1,000 and that way you can keep your original engine for your car and the 5.0 can be ready when your car shows up making the turn around much quicker.. That's the plan anyway... Thanks again for your interest.. John(onecatnodog)

John Glad we could talk today, Sounds like we have a plan and I'm ready to make that move. I hope we can get a good turn around time. I think that will be important along with a great running cat.

And you know I love
it when a plan comes together.

Terry, Time behind the camera will definitely suffer as it's a lot of work to do a 5.0 Prowler... But maybe I can con the models into helping like when I did this transmission job on a Prowler... It would cause me to get there early and stay late... onecat could always use a extra hand around the shop... onecatnodog

How is it coming on the project ?

I have to plan any work to the prowler in advance so wonding if the project is still a go and an estimate of when this will come to market.

Thanks,
