I read several posts on how difficult it is to bleed the system when changing the coolant. My son is a Chrysler tech and showed me an easy way by using a piece of clear poly from the bleeder valve back to the reservior. fill system and run until most of the air bubbles are out. Takes about 15-20 min or so but works great. Here are some pics ( my first try at posting pics )

NJ - 2 out of 4 was a great effort. Took me 2 yrs to learn to post pics,,,,then took weeks to perfect the system. I'm not too computer smart,,,,Lethia seems to understand her way around doing things on the computer.

I just figured how to LOOK at pictures on the site. lol.
I think you can only load two pictures at a time. I think I read that awhile back. Maybe not.

NJ,

I'm assuming that you're draining the coolant completely and then bleeding the air from the air bleeder. That solves half of the problem, but the other area that has to be bled is at the upper radiator hose.

I have posted elsewhere how to bleed this area using a basketball filler pin. It was worth about a quart, rather significant.
Back for edit. For post on how to get that last quart out: http://www.prowleronline.com/ubb/Forum2/HTML/001144.html

You can do more than 2 pics per post. All you need to do is edit your post to remove the space before the http in your last 2 pics. I think, all in all, you can have (either 7 or 9) pictures per post - can't remember which it is. These include your little smilies, etc.

Grrowl, I just read your post on the method you used to change the coolant. You really when the extra mile! I must admit I was not as thorough as you were in flushing the system. Just drained, filled with distilled water ran up to temp and drained again. But I believe both methods of bleeding are effective. After filling the system I ran the clear poly line from the bleeder back to the reservoir and let the engine run. It kept purging air for about 20 min before the visible bubbles became insignificant. What I like about the method is that you can just let it run and visually see when the air is depleted. I have put several hundred miles on the Kat since the coolant change and the temp remains normal.

PS whoever helped with the pics THANK YOU

You're welcome!

That's a great idea. I've always bled mine into an empty container, but your idea of recycling is the way to go.

Mopar also makes a fill funnel (don't have the part number right now) that eliminates a lot of the air when filling.
