FreeorDie, make a couple of extras with the excess materials and then when other cat owners admire it, you can sell them one cheap and have an instant lifelong friend. Or, sell them on eBay. I don't use the front plate but others would want one, possibly. |

Well, Grrowl, I'm probably not the one to ask about difficulty. I find it difficult to do anything on a car without screwing it up. For example, at one point, I couldn't drill through the 1/16th inch aluminum no matter what I did -- even changing drill bits 3 times. And I thought it was odd, because the first set of holes was easy. It took me about 15 minutes to realize that I had inadvertently clicked the drill into reverse <sigh>. So, with that as a caveat, I'd say that it wasn't too bad. Took me about 2 hours which for a normal guy would probably be about 30 minutes. The hardest part? Putting the drill to the bumper. Knowing my own propensity for screwing up, I had to wrestle with myself for about 10 minutes before I actually did it. I'll tell you this, however. . .your instructions got me through it. They were perfect. And if I can do it, anyone can. I was going to spend the $100 for the adhesive version from Real Rod. Even picked up the phone and called them, but it was the day they left for vacation. I'd argued with myself for two weeks before calling because I just wasn't confident in having it held on only with adhesive (though I'm sure it's a fine product). This saved me over $90 and it's good and secure. Thanks again!! |

Were you able to make the 1 x 1 work or did you get the 2 x 2 Aluminum angle? Also did you modify the factory bracket in any way? Thanks This message has been edited by kat hunter on 03-01-2004 at 07:02 PM |

quote: kh, 1x1 would be really tight. I just measured the hole location on mine, it's 1-1/2" down from the top. You should be able to find 2x2, I'd suggest starting with that and grinding one side down. -GRROWL |
