Oh man,,,,,I'm ready to wet my pants just seeing what I missed. What a rush you guys got to get today! Viper, Lambo, and Cobra,,,,a added bonus to be out there with! Marty - Ed made a conference call to several of us to see if he should let you drive his red cat on the track,,,,,something about he was worried about you sucking a valve or bouncing it off the wall. I relayed your skill during the Colorado Adult Cruise, so he gave in. Ed - Mike is thinking of getting a safety/pace truck for the POA.........You could be appointed the official driver. Sounds like you got shorted on laps? Andy - thanks for the great photos! I didn't see the Indy Hi-Boy flasher there,,,,,,oh well, he couldn't run hot laps with you guys and keep it together anyway You know those NASCAR lovers just like to follow the leader and occasionally rub side sheet metal |

I forgot about this deal, Marty called me and asked if I was coming, we did the mad thrash and took an hour to get ready(had to wash the Caddy) and Deb but We would have been poooped by the time we got there,,, Really hated to miss this but it was my fault,,,I have been around Indy, Michigan, Fontana(125) and Texas, so I really understand your guys and girls excitement to be zooming around at speed. I will NOT miss the next one. ------------------ |

Just for some clarification, the first picture is in the RV parking lot section overlooking the back stretch and that is where we had to park to go to the gift shop, before entering the race track area itself. Hence the crushed rock. A/C, I did miss out on a lot of the laps since I let the Safety Crew guys drive my car. I figured if Marty could do it, surely they could. lol. My plan was to let them drive first so they would give us a few more laps, but the exceeeded our wildest dreams on everything, laps, speeds, fun etc. We got there at 2 PM on the dot and probably goofed off for almost 1/2 hour in the gift shop, etc. We were on the track non stop from 2:30 until just about 5 PM. I took Marty back up to his car at 4:17 and stayed up there quite awhile and then went back down to the track since they were still doing laps. Charley in the Lambo wants to hang out with us in the future since we have so much fun. The safety crew was really a bunch of nice guys. They could not have treated us any better. They told us to always come in the late afternoon to avoid the crowds but I said I like getting there at sunup, lol. Next track day is Nov. 8th. |

Nice to hear all the great stories and enjoying the pics... Ed great job in arranging the lap day... Seems like it pays off to let the track guys have their fun too... I'm envious... ------------------ |

Laddie, it was better than we could have ever imagined. If you look back at the early posts on this thread you will see that it was planned well in advance. I would say it was an excellent investment. The guys working there could not have been nicer. They would fit right in with the Prowler owners that I have met. One guy, Tony, is a firefighter in either Louisville or Lexington and since 3 of my sons are firefighters we had a little in common. |
