Got a call from Dallas Dodge today. Chrysler needs to know exactly what the car is doing that leads me to believe that it is the BCM before they will go ahead with the order.

Interesting...

UPDATE...sort of

I received the BCM today WooHoo !!!!!

I installed it tonight and turned on the key and the same thing. I waited a little while and nothing. I then thought, what the heck - let's start the car. The air started coming through the vents. Turned the dial and the air followed everywhere I told it to go. Back and forth, back and forth it stayed with me. I was like a little kid at Christmas!

Also the Gas gauge registered empty and stayed there, which is correct because I drained almost all of the tank to prepare for changing the filler neck.

SO, preliminary it is looking promising but I will need to drive the car a bit to be sure. I cant drive it tonight as it is raining, and it is CLEAN because last time it rained I pulled it out of the garage and washed it in the rain.

I will update with more when I get more experience with this fix. Hoping and praying that this fixes it !!!

Did the dealer do it and did it cost $ 500? Hopefully you are CURED.

No, the dealer only sold me the refurbished BCM and I installed it last night.

Yes, hopefully this cures her ills. I should know more this weekend as I will be working on her...

UPDATE:

Sorry Ajak, did not mean to hijack your thread but since your car is in hibernation for the winter I figured I would carry on since we have very similar issues.

So I finally got her back together ( was working on other issues simultaneously) and took it for a drive - the fist time in months. It was so much fun to drive!

The A/C mode door worked flawlessly. While driving I switched it around and it followed my every command. The other thing that is super is the the gas gauge works now. On the way to the gas station it read empty (and it was really empty). After the partial fillup it read 3/4. Stopped off at another gas station and filled it up the rest of the way and it registered full.

The rear window defogger stopped randomly turning on/off by itself. I manually cycled it and it performed as it should have.

So it appears that the replacement of the Body Control Module has fixed my issues and now the car is driveable again. Today has been a very happy day for me...what a great Christmas present!

I have to give a plug to the dealership that helped me so much through this issue and got me the re-manufactured BCM (and at a discount):

Dallas Dodge - ask for Brandon 214-319-1208.

It's always good when your hard work finally pays off.
Enjoy your Prowler, well at least you know it's working right when you put it away.
