Hang in there Fvee25. Did you replace your fuel pump relay as well?

I forgot to mention I had a similar issue in another Chrysler car years ago. t turns out the PCM was not activating the coils at times. Why not eliminate the fuel pump relay possibility? They cost about $14.00 and can be found at your local automotive parts stores like Napa, Autozone etc. Then see what happens.

Very frustrating to here. I'm sure Jefferson Auto or Tom Mills will give you good direction. Have you called the shop.

Below is a thread . Is the blue seal involved in the fuel pump replacement.
http://www.prowleronline.com/ubb/Forum2/HTML/005361.html

I'm positive this forum will figure this out...Hang in there.

robin

You could start by checking the fuel pump pressure 50 ....60 when running just to make sure you have a good pump. good place to start to rule out the actual new pump.

Confirm you have propper fuel pump pressure then go from there. Did you check fuel pump pressure before you changed the original fuel pump?

Don't know what happened but I will take it.

I have the same issue. When the tank is full it starts right up. Once the tank runs down it does not want to fire up as quick. Has your problem persisted or are you ok now.

Nick, the 99s were really susceptible to the hard start when the car was warm, due to low fuel PRESSURE. That could be the pump or you can try just turning the key to the ON position and wait about 10 or 15 seconds before you turn it to START. See if that helps.

One of our owners who doesn't post here but reads everything, called me this morning and asked me to give you his phone number.

He had the same issues and he wants to tell you what he did to fix his.

His number is 609.649.3005.

All,

I spoke with Harry last night. He informed me that he had tried everything and eventually found that it was a small, intermittent, leak in one of the fuel injectors. For less than $100 he was able to replace only the one that was bad and has not had any issues since (knock on wood).

I am going to give this a try when I have a chance and will report back on the results.

That is why it is so important when you check your fuel pressure that the pump puts out the proper pressure when running and that it holds that pressure for a long time after the car is shut off. Any leak, internal or external will cause the fuel system to loose it's prime and cause a hard starting condition.

04591658AA 6 EGG INJECTOR, Fuel

Warning Signs that Fuel Injectors Need to be Replaced
Though maintenance can go a long way towards preventing the need for a fuel injector replacement, there are signs that indicate a dying fuel injector. Having the fuel in a vehicle effectively get from point A to point B is crucial. Without functioning fuel injectors, the car will no longer run. Consumers should be aware of the issues that serve as warning signs of a failing fuel injection system. When these tell-tale symptoms become apparent, it is best to get the car to a reputable mechanic immediately, before ending up stranded on the side of the road.
Some of the most common signs of a clogged or damaged fuel injector include:
Stalling at red lights or while driving
Increase in RPM without adequate acceleration
Hesitation during acceleration
Difficulty starting
