The 2000 Kats have a special feature that is never mentioned in the owner's manual. The door locks will activate automatically once the car exceeds 18 mph. I only found this out while looking through the 2000 service manual. Here are the following instructions to enable this feature: 1)cycle the ignition switch 4 times between the off and on position (do not start car) 2)leave in the off position after the 4th time. hit the door lock switch once and a chime will sound to let you know its programmed. Repeat steps 1 and 2 to return to original |

MLP..does the manual mention if doors unlock when transmission is put in park, or do they have to be unlocked manually. |

The door lock feature is also available on the '99's. You have to unlock manually. |

It's called rolling locks or something similar and I dig it. I had my technician change mine with the computer hook up. You have to unlock manually, but for anyone who's not aware, you don't have to unlock the door to open it from the inside. This thread brings back the question that I was going to ask before. Has everyone ensured that the tech at their dealership was sent to the two day class by the dealership? If not, they are not ALLOWED to touch your car. I was told this by my dealership. Myself, I like that. I don't want ANYONE touching my Kat that hasn't at least been to that class. Actually JP, Any mechanic can work on your Prowler. But only Prowler Certified Mechanics can perform warranty work. That is the catch. You can even take it too your local Dodge dealer to do work. That is where I take mine and they also happen to have two Prowler certified techs at their shop. ------------------ |
