He will be cremated with his remains being placed in New Albany, IN where he was born and where his father lies. The address for the Funeral home is: Doan & Mills Funeral Home 790 National Road West Richmond, IN 47374 It is directly across from Earlham College's campus… In lieu of flowers, Memorial contributions may be made to Reid Hospital Foundation for the Hospice Program, 1401 Chester Blvd., Richmond, IN 47374, or Greyhound Pets of America, Indianapolis, P.O. Box 42304, Indianapolis, IN 46242. IN MEMORIAM Philip E. Genet, DMD, age 60, of Richmond, died Thursday, July 5, 2007, at his residence with his loving family around him. He was born June 28, 1947, in New Albany, Ind., to Charles and May Furnish Genet and moved to Richmond in 1991. Phil was a 1965 graduate of New Albany High School, attended Ball State University, was a 1972 graduate of the University of Kentucky Dental School. He was a U.S. Navy veteran, serving from 1972 to 1975 on the USS Midway. He then opened a general dentistry practice in 1975 in Owensboro, Ky. In 1985 he graduated from the University of Louisville as an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. Phil was a member of the American Dental Association, Indiana Dental Association, University of Kentucky Alumni Association and Fellow and was a very active member of the ProwlerOnline Association. Phil enjoyed spending time with his family, two greyhounds and other pets, traveling and was an avid follower of University of Kentucky Basketball. Survivors include his wife, Patricia B. Brameld Genet, to whom he was married May 22, 1975; daughter, Laurie Preston and husband Matthew of Lexington, Ky.; son, David Genet and wife Jaclyn of Bloomington, Ind.; stepgranddaughter, Marley Preston; his mother; brothers, Ray Genet and wife Mary Ann of Louisville, Ky., and Steven Genet and wife Fran of Tiffin, Ohio; nieces; nephews; family and colleagues. He was preceded in death by his father. Public visitation for Philip E. Genet, DMD will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 10, 2007, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road W., Richmond. Memorial contributions may be made to Reid Hospital Foundation for the Hospice Program, 1401 Chester Blvd., Richmond, IN 47374, or Greyhound Pets of America, Indianapolis, P.O. I have to report for Jury duty Monday and Linda is leaving for Brazil on business. I really wish we could be there for Phil. I still cannot believe he is gone.

However, POA has sent a floral arrangement on behalf of all his friends at POA. I asked that red flowers be included to represent the Prowler he loved so much. The card reads: Phil We will always miss you but never forget you. From your other family......Prowler Owners Association

I think all would agree when we suffer the loss of a loved one there is some measure of comfort in knowing that many are praying and thinking of them and also to know that Phil was loved by many. Sharon and I had the great pleasure and honor of meeting him last year at the Louisville summer event. We again had the pleasure discussing life and events with him at the fall Cincinnati Tall Stacks cruise. His ongoing battle with many unfortunate maladies and his positive outlook always left me in awe. May he rest in pease........
