Here's a $50,000 question. You can't swap PCM's because it looks elsewhere to compare info and it needs to match. Where is that? Body controller? If that is so would it stand to reason that if both items were swapped from say, a wrecked Prowler it would then work but register a different vin and mileage? |

I would think that for 2001 and 2002 there would be software changes to accommodate new torque converter design. Other than torque converter, 2002 changes appears to be general on going refinements to the TCM. Just my assumption, not fact. From "The Garage" page; 2001 Torque Converter change The torque converter change was an early introduction in 2001 production (October 2000) to update the lockup feature with a dual rate damper system which would better match the engine to the converter. Part number 4736427AC (was 4736815AA). 2002 Model year changes- Colors: Inca Gold Pearl and Deep Candy Red added. |
