I saw today in autotrader for up to 1000 km from were I live 7 prowlers for sale. One with 114.000 km was 25.500 and 6 with 8000 to 45000 km are from 39.000 to 49.000 looks like the prices may be going up . Or it's spring prices, I hope they sell.

when selling your car as in "By Owner" you will not hit high over $30,000 for the Prowler. Why you ask,

-Less exposer
-No training in salesmanship, buyer will not feel the pressure to buy
-when you sell, will be because of time factor, you will not hold it up for sale for more then 3 months

Reasons why Dealership sale at a higher price then a "By Owner"

-More Exposer, they put on dozens of websites
-Great salesmanship
-High end Dealer will have high end cars,Lambos, Bentley, Ferrari, etc so when you but over $40,000 Prowler at that place you feel a bit different, saying to yourself I bought an exotic car from them.
-At Auto Auctions like Mecum, Barret-Jackson. When you are bidding, they have a worker come up to you and pressure you to bid and bid to buy, Plus you are on TV, and you don't want to look like a cheapo and you start bidding and bidding.

Plus a true car collector will know that all the gaskets will need to be changed because you don't drive it much and everything in there has dried up. And will knock your price down.

Also you are not the only one with a low mileage and they will find more desperate seller.

Get in your Prowler lower it from the Tow truck and start enjoying it to the Fullest. You on level 3 of Enjoyment scale. HIt that level 10 like most of us.

look at this Listing http://www.ebay.com/itm/Plymouth-Other-2dr-Roadster-2001-chrysler-prowler-mullholland-blue-2-k-miles-/301554914206?forcerrptr=true&hash=item463612d39e&item=301554914206&pt=US_Cars_
This is exactly what I am saying, being sold by a professional. Other cars are high end, so buyer who buys the Prowler when he visits that dealership will most likely buy it at $40,000. He will see other cars there going over $80,000.

I'm pretty sure the members here on POA are smart enough not to fall into that category. Maybe an uninformed pigeon ready to be plucked.

Ef...I will be glad when you wake up from your dream world and realize the car is depreciating in the real world.

I only wish you were right and I was wrong.

Nothing to be sorry about...you're the one that can't sleep at night worrying about your 'investment'... The rest of us are enjoying our 'investments'

I would think that if you check the values of sports cars and convertibles, most 'guides' (such as KBB) adjust prices up for the spring season, just like they drop them in the fall.
The small amount of reported dealer sales and auction sales of low volume cars (such as Prowler) means that most price guides have to 'guess/estimate' current values, they are NOT real world prices.

So true AC, So true.

But think of this.

In 1999 when the Prowlers were out the price of Gold was $285 per oz.

If you invested $40,000 in Gold, the price of a Prowler back in 99, that $40,000 would be worth $160,000 today.

I think Ef sleeps very well at night knowing his investment increased in value.

You mean 'THINKING his investment increased in value'...
I'm sure that anyone who constantly checks their investment value, is sick to their stomach went the market drops...when in fact, it only matters IF you're buying or selling.

He's not "thinking" or "knowing" if he's sleeping.

He's "dreaming". Here's to dreams!

The car featured in that video is actually the car that CJ got her first Prowler ride in. She was given the ride on Woodward during Dream Cruise. I had forgotten that was the car. Chrysler/FCA retains ownership of this pre-production car. The driver of the car in the video, Joe Cappy just published a book, "The Last American CEO." Joe was head of Thrifty/Dollar RAC in Oklahoma.

Rich Ware organized an event around the unearthing of Miss Belvedere. Hopefully the Prowler will be in better shape in 2048 when it is unearthed.

Super interesting!! We bought ours for life. They will have to sell it after we are dead and gone. I'm curious if anyone still knows how many Prowlers have never been titled. That was interesting to hear through the years. Also wild to see 300+ people on the site at a time 20+ years after production ended.

I bought my first one in April of 99. I think I had about 60,000 miles on it when I sold it for its twin with way less miles on it, for about the same price. I recently bought two low mileage Prowlers that were being sold due to health issues. I am too old to buy stuff for investment purposes so I will continue to drive them. I think the Candy has about 80,000 on it. I am keeping that one since I like the color the most but the Woodward is a close second. I plan on keeping that one also. I am going to sell the orange one with the lambo doors and Real Rod chrome rear bumpers and the low mileage 99 Red one. That is the third 99 Red one I have owned. I haven't had any issues with any of them and we have been all over the country in them and up to Nova Scotia a couple of times, also. I think we got our money's worth out of them and have made tons of friends and seen a bunch of stuff we wouldn't have seen if not for the Prowler. I bought it to enjoy, not to please other people.
Investments seem to do better with money in the stock market. I haven't met any good friends that I met through the stock market, come to think of it.
See you all in Eureka Springs unless your saving your car for the next life. We are going to meet our friends and take a drive with a bunch of other Prowlers.
Opinions may vary.
