Ef,,, 20,,I see.

When I bought my new Prowler in 2000, I had it titled in my grandson's name. He was 1 then, and figured I'd pass the car along to him someday. Fifteen years later, I find out he isn't interested in cars at all, and not even interested in getting a driver's license. Talk about a real wake-up ....... Kids today,,can't figure them out!

Maybe he will sell you the car at a reasonable price.

Too late Andria,,,,,just last week I had him sign a Power of Attorney,,releasing his name off of the Alley Cat Prowler if/when it may go up for sale. Good thing he doesn't read POA, or he might have taken your advice to sell the car to me, lol Wouldn't that been a bite in the azz!

Wonder what a 2000 Woodward with 222 miles would sell for?

Depends on if your using Ed's and Ac's calculations probably under 30k....if your using standard calculations i would say close to 37-40k....jmo

I would estimate the same price as if it had 22,222 miles on it.

I would say condition is more important than mileage. A car with fewer miles is assumed to be in better condition but that is not always the case. If a low mileage car has not been maintained and stored properly it's value would be less.

I'm beginning to think that in the very near future,,,it shall be worth 'more' than the original MSRP.....

Hold onto it,,,don't drive it,,,it could reach six digits by 2025!

Based on your avatar pic, I'm wondering if you modded the car for 'show' only, or you did originally intend to drive it?

He posted in the past that he expects 10 % a year. With inflation it will be worth a lot of money soon. The money won't be worth much, but that is another poll question.

"....at this point I am looking to get a 10% return every year especially if I continue not to drive it."

At 10%, the value would double about every 7 yrs... I wonder if Wall St knows about this?

Does anyone know at what age collector cars bottom out in price. I have been looking around and it looks like 15 years is the magic number.

This subject of Prowler values and whether they are up or down makes for interesting conversation but for me personally, I bought my Prowler to customize, drive just about every day, and enjoy it for what it is, a very unique and fun car. If or when the time comes to sell it, I will be happy to accept what the market value is at that time. I did not buy it for an investment and therefore do not worry about it's value from day to day. I will enjoy it for many thousands of "miles of smiles" and that is priceless! JMO.

And Effie has a sh*t eatin grin a mile wide every time he goes into his garage and looks at his investment in happiness. No miles but plenty of smiles and still enough friends to keep him happy.

I heard that 'if' the temp gets above freezing this Saturday,,,Ef was going to PUSH his cat out onto the driveway so that the neighbors could see it. 90 minutes later (there is a exposure time limit you know),,,Ef will PUSH his cat back into the garage!

Yup,,,,we all love Ef for saving us a future, low mileage, Prowler to purchase and drive

-----------------------------------------------------------

Meanwhile, this Saturday,,,I'll be driving my cat that I bought to drive and show at our weekly car show.....where 20,000+ spectators will be allowed to view and admire my Prowler...
To those who drive their Prowlers >>> HAPPY PROWLING

I am not slamming anyone's decision to not drive their Prowler or driving the wheels off. However I have always heard that not driving any car and letting is sit can be just as harmful as putting a ton of miles on it. Obviously a Prowler with a ton of miles would sell for much less than one with low mileage.

I have been on the POA forum longer than most but not as long as some. I can't tell you how many times people have posted buying a low miles car and shortly after start reporting they are having various issues. That would seem to support what I have heard about letting a car sit. Our Prowler on the other hand has only been in the shop once for repairs. Again this is not meant to criticize or offend anyone in any way.

This is just simply what I have heard, experienced and observed.

What I can say with utmost certainty is that our Prowler has been priceless to us. For all the adventures we have had and all the many good friends we have made attending events over the past 15 years. It was my plan from the start to only put 3000 to 5000 miles per year on our Prowler. We have owned the Prowler since new for 16 years this April. At roughly 43K miles the average miles is about 2700 miles per year. The last 5 years I have not driven it nearly as much as I would prefer. I was happy that we drove it to the Smokies event last October. As we get older the less time we seem to have to just do fun stuff. What's up with that? I hope it never comes, but I dread the day I may be too old to drive it.

Unfortunately my cat lost some value today. I haven't figured how much.

WHY?

I drove it to the gas station to put fresh fuel in it. I also wanted it to run a little after sitting awhile. Stupid me.

Ahhh but Effie's got that covered too. Plenty of 5 gallon gas cans he can fill at a moments notice in case of evaporation.

I know of at least one "collector car" (by today's standards) that was virtually worthless shortly after it was sold. The value of these cars stayed at the bottom for a very long time and only now are beginning to bring a respectable price on the market. When these cars were new, the phrase "Collector Car" was not a common term.
