Ed by the way it sounds we might need a very big rig. I've got people calling collect to know what the cost is. I just tell them to keep watching the posts as Wayne said he would report back as soon as he know's something.(and I do not doubt that)I too would like to know how many car's they can put on their biggest rig.

Mayor - I think some of the larger transporters [open air] can handle up to 12 cars. Enclosed trailers, like Reliable and others,,,,might only hold six, or eight?

It would not offend me to have an open trailer. 12 car's that's a lot of car on a load. That should make for a reasonable price however. Of course it would depend on the stops involved. I'm sure. That's another reason why we need to book early,For the best rate and the biggest truck.

I have been contacted by Charlie at Pilot transport out of Brighton, Mi. Where they have a staging area.Pilot quoted me a price of $750.00 each way to Tulsa and $750.00 back. $100.00 extra for a stop in Chicago and pickup. And that is for a full load. And they are self insured.

This price is too much for me to bear. especially when there self insured,It was a price for an enclosed trailer.

Now my next question is is there a more reasonable price company out there.(let me know and I will call)

After a little research, I have contacted Dave at Affordable transport. Dave told me that with 6 cars on an open trailer (that means they need to be washed when they get there) the cost would be $500.00 a car each way. This is not a self insured company.

I'm still getting phone calls and tips as to who to talk to about this. And I'm learning a lot about this business. Please stay tuned for info.
