Another DA question!! I would like to put a cig lighter in my Prowler! I would think that the "power outlet" would work, but won't....any suggestions?? FP |

I think the cig lighter outlets are metal lined for heat shielding. It shouldn't be too hard to replace the power outlet if you wanted. What's wrong with a disposable in the cup holder? Get one of the flamed jobbers to be cool. ![]() |

Do not know about the Prowler Power outlet but I put a lighter in my Suburban power outlet and about the 3rd or 4th time I used it it did not pop out when hot and the dash was smoking instead of me. I will never do it again. ------------------ |

I have a flamed disposable in the cup holder, but leaning waaayyy forward with both side windows up and the top down and steering with my knees is NOT the best deal!! |

quote: Pat, I never used the power outlet on the Prowler. But the power outlet wouldn't work on my 01 Intrepid also. I finally found that there is a fuse that has to be moved in the fuse box. I found it in the owners manual for the Intrepid. Look and see if there is anything about this in the Prowler owners manual. It might say something about this. Bill |

Repeat after me. Go to your Chrysler dealer. Go to the parts dept. Buy a lighter. Remove 12v cap, push in lighter, SMOKE! Gees. Any of these 12v outlets in almost all cars double a lighter sockets (No fuse has to be moved) This message has been edited by JRL on 04-17-2005 at 09:54 AM |

It is my understanding that a cigarette lighter will not work with the ignition off but a power source will work so there must be something different. Let us know if the dashboard catches on fire. This message has been edited by ed monahan on 04-17-2005 at 04:53 PM |
