We still enjoy that atmospheric phenomenom here. When the fog gets real thick, we look up at the International Bridges (in PH & Detroit) that cross into Canada. When the middle of the bridge dissapears, and you can't see Canada on the other side,
"Life.............is good".

I'm not missing out, we live about 1 mile NORTH of the Blue Water Bridge (re: upstream).

BTW: The rumor is that Molson's & Lebatts are by-products of those refineries you've mentioned.
Any truth to that?

I usually try to avoid all trouble or controversy but I might be up for it. lol. There may be a few others with me when we arrive, don't be shocked. I have had some emails from other POAers who say they may join in the fun.
We are coming, just have to figure out which week(s) in August.

I've been to Marcus Dairy (Danbury CT) show twice. It's more of a cruise night. 200-300 cars. They always put me up front. I went to another smaller one in Woodbury CT and they had about 50-75 cars and they wouldn't let me in. There was a spot up close next to the barriers. I had just as many people look at my Prowler as the other cars inside. Another one i've been to in Derby CT just puts me with newer cars.

To be BRUTALLY honest (me?), I've found a much more diplomatic way of dealing with this issue.
Carol & I produced the local car show (400 cars at it's peak) for almost ten years. We gained tremendous insight into the minds of exhibitors. Having said that, we very quickly found out that the most tenuous items to deal with were judging & classifications. How some exhibitors thought they deserved a right to be competitive with a car 5 years old OR newer was beyond me, but there they were, every year. Now that we have the Prowler (our 31 Model A
with a 5.0 EFI is still waiting to be finished), we admit that we like to take it to shows. Our way of dealing with all of the hassle is that we only go to charity shows, over pay the entry fee, buy plenty of 50/50 tickets, purchase a couple of tee shirts, refuse to be judged or placed in a class. We tell other exhibitors what we feel, "It's not even close to being fair to place a new vehicle up against a restored or modified vehicle. There was no sweat equity in assembling our car." We even made a placard for the windshield, "DISPLAY ONLY, NOT FOR JUDGING". "We're here ONLY to support the charity. We wish you (other exhibitors) well in the judging". This is the best we can do to produce peaceful co-existance. I've been around enough "trophy hounds" to last a lifetime. For us, the best trophies are stone chips. That shows (us) that we are to busy enjoying our car........In the long run, "we're too busy counting our blessings to waste the time counting a garage full of $5 trophies!" Owning a Prowler is just one of those blessings.............

well said.... and a great idea Ed,

Myself , I could care less about the trophy and much less about what the other exhibitors thought of my Prowler...I just love to see the faces of those who have never seen one up close and want to know more about the "coolest Production car on the planet"... Prowlers are all about fun... the POA taught me that !

No one will dispute you on this either. One of the things we've done since buying the car is to purchase a Polaroid and leave it in the trunk. When some youngster OR senior stops to talk about the car, we listen carefully. When (and if) we see the glint in their eye, we offer to take their picture IN the car. hand them the photo & send them on their way. OUR car is not a shrine, it's enjoyment. We just take bizzare methods to "share" it.

Ed W.,
I also have to commend you on your choice of words. You speak the absolute truth!!!
I try to stay away from a good portion of the local car shows unless of course it's an ALL Mopar show in which you are always welcome. I can take rejection but I try not to get myself into a situation where some wise a$$ tells me that my Prowler is not worthy of entering his 2 bit show. It's just not worth it!
Have a good day everyone!

Well, that explains a lot, Ed W.!!

I don't mind going to car shows once in a while, but I am not into the car show/judging/trophy thing. I'd much rather be cruising in the Prowler all day than sitting at a car show all day.

The proof in your statement was the kindness you extended by attending the Port Huron Cruise Night last July & encouraging other Kat owners to do likewise. Again, our thanks!

Chuck I've done the Marcus Dairy cruise nite a few time's, wish i'd of run into ya, Maybe this year.

Conn Has lots of car related stuff going on during the summer, Meets, cruise's, etc and i have been welcomed for the most part at all of them for the exception of one where this a$$ whole and i mean a complete A$$ whole who kept saying it was one of those hot rods in a Box as his hot little girlfriend drooled over the prowler.
But if go to a car show has an entry cut off year I don't feel as though i'm excluded THEY ARE!!!.

It sounds like we will have to do a Prowler event at Marcus Dairy in the spring. I can't wait for this snow to melt....

I was almost excluded at a car show in Prospect, CT while driving my 71' Pantera. The cut off was 1972 and they guy at the gate kept telling me "No kit cars allowed". I had to get out and pop the deck lid so this idiot could see a 351 Clevland and not a VW. Then he didn't believe it was old enough, so I showed him my registration (I've got antique plates on the car, duh..) After all that he begrudgingly let me through, but no apology or anything for giving me such a hard time. So...a big thumbs up to the Prospect car club for putting a true car enthusiast at the gate.
