OK, I hate Brock Yates enough that if someone will just tell me how to do it, I'll forward this thread to the editors of Hot Rod. I'd love to see him put out to pasture - he's an ignorant bum.... (I felt this way about him before this thread, too) |

I think its time to take this war to the editor of the Mag. A number of us---as many as we can talk in to it---need to write in the the editior and tell him just what our hearts really feel about these remarkable vehicles. Mr. Yates makes his living writing stuff about cars and he's done it for a very long time-maybe too long. He needs to be held accountable, in some fashion, about his written statements. I truly don't see where he comes up with his reasoning about the Prowler, maybe I'm too close to the real truth about this car being the best kept secret in the automotive world. After talking to countless people at a vast no. of car shows(and anywhere else I take my Kat)I can tell you, first hand ,that some people will never get it ie, "if it ain't got 8 cylinders, or more, it ain't a real car !!" Now that kind of thinking really shows just how stupid/igirount people can be. I've had many a "spirited" conversation with a number of these types and I guess Mr. Yates belongs in one(or more) of these cubbyholes. So, I'm throwing down the gantlet here, lets get those cards and letters flowing to the editor in chief with copies to Mr. Yates telling him what's in our hearts. One or more of them will get published in that rag I'm sure. Lets face it most all of the stuff we write in this club sight stays here. If you want to make a difference its got to go to the maddening throng. Lots of people read those mag's and they need to get our considered opinion-first hand. GO FOR IT !!!! IT TAKES A NUMBER OF LETTERS TO COUNTERMAND ANYTHING WRITTEN BY A STAFF WRIGHER BUT IT CAN BE DONE !!!... Obi-Wan |

Brock has a lot of gall to put down the Prowler. Has anyone seen that red "abortion" he calls a street rod he had bulit with the viper engine. That is the ugliest piece of crap I have ever seen. ------------------ |

AUGHHH!!!! MY EYES!!!! WTF???? is that horrible red piece of ugly S*%&$it????? Is that Yates' car, for God's sakes???? What an ABORTION!!! I sent my email to the editors. Everybody in this group should do the same. For a national car magazine to slam the Prowler (especially for its looks!!!!) is unforgivable. Maybe Mike Krehel would like to write on behalf of the entire group - we should have some clout with our numbers!!! |

I sent my email to Car & Driver, and left a very detailed message with Mr. Yates' secretary at the corrected phone number I posted earlier - she's very pleasant (makes me wonder why she's working for an pompous ******* like him), and promises to cheerfully forward all of our hate messages to Mr. Yates. I even left my name and number - I'm not waiting by the phone for a call-back, however. I hope that everyone in this group takes the 2 or 3 minutes required to express our disappointment with his statements, and with C & D for publishing them. BTW, I sent the pics of Yates' God-awful, butt-ugly, mis-proportioned, ill-conceived monstrosity of a car to a couple of buddies as a joke. One of them gouged his eyes out, and the other one puked all over his monitor. That thing is just nasty - talk about people in glass houses casting stones.... |
