Congrats Al, I know you've worked long and hard! Your TT ran very well. Your numbers were quite consistant, but 60' times looked like you might have had some trouble hooking up all that power. Did you encounter a lot of wheel spin on launch? ------------------ |

Here's link to official Texas Speed Weekend results... http://www.prowleronline.com/ubb/Forum1/HTML/002110.html Now, if there was a corrected ET for Mike's Purple, it would be back in LA in my records... So, I'll have to wait until I get back to LA to check... Your Fastest 1/4 MPH may still stand.. not something I've tracked... If Al ran in Denver, he would have run SLOWER... I don't think Englishtown, NJ is at 5,000 ft elevation... |

quote: Not really Mike--It hooked better at the track then on the street with 23lbs in the rears. Just a little tire spin, but my settup doesn't come on strong until about 3000 RPM so that must be the reason. On my first run my 60' and Laddies were similar and he had wheelspin. Do you or anyone else have a time slip with a good 12 second run that I can compare to to see where I have to improve? Laddie I know that....Mr C must have been poking fun at someone. |

Mike, I don't think 60' times with stock tires will get much better than hi 1.8s. My best 60' is 1.865... Al, here's times from three of my 12 sec runs... 1/4 ET ...12.738 ..12.851 ..12.887 .. I had lot more spin on 2nd run and not as much in two rounds of bracket racing... This is 1st time in two years, I've had wheel spin. A week ago in Canada I had none... Which is the way the car has run the last two years. Just hook up & go... |

Thanks for your 60' times Laddie. Guess I would need a looser converter or a 50HP spray with tires to get out better. The first pass, I came out at about 2000. I tried to come out at about 2500 the second time but am not sure as I was trying to watch the lights and tach. Guess that's why they mount them on the cowl. Bob--In truly believe that it was your aerodynamic pan that got me into the 12's--we don't need no stinkin bumpers |

Thanks to George and Jacki Deane for all their work on this event. And as always, what a nice bunch of people all the Kat owners are. I gotta tell ya, as a novice to dragging it was a heck of a lot of fun. I was at least as paranoid as any other Kat owners who are afraid of hurting their cars. But my car came through without any harm and I would highly recommend drags to anyone. It increased my enjoyment of the vehicle 10-fold. I now think the 3.5L is a tough little engine. It was also fun to learn exactly how to study a timing slip to improve on future runs. Thanks to "Bayou" Laddie for the driving tips. Congrats to the winners!!! |
