went back to see if I posted back in 2004 when this thread started.... I didn't So have to guess when the thread started it had 20-25k miles Today it has about 43,000 miles It has been a lot of fun and the people we have met are the best out there. The purchase was life changing and wouldn't trade the friends and memories for anything. There are still haters out there, say it should have had a V8, it rides bad and many other comments. Put a Prowler around other sports cars or exotics and see the people looking at and taking pictures of the Prowler. We don't get ours out much due to Sues health, but we do enjoy it some. The long trips and events are over for her, but hope to join in on day trip or very laid back events in the future. Would guess be a long time before it hits 50,000 miles ------------------ |

Back in 2004 when this thread was started, I could only dream about owning a Prowler. I do recall going to see the new '97 at a local dealer when it was introduced. It was 2002 when Dad bought his Black Tie New and I had an opportunity to get a better look at one first hand. In 2004 (give or take) a friend bought the Prowler I now own (out of Texas through E-Bay) with about 9,000 miles on it. In 2008 I purchased the car from my friend with 13,800 miles on it. I joined POA where I got acquainted with the local East Coast Possee and attended my first event for a weekend in Ocean City Maryland. During the first year of ownership, I accumulated an additional 9,000 miles of smiles on the car. In subsequent years I was able to attend the Smokies, Deep Creek MD, The Nursing Home Nationals, Statue of Liberty, Sipshewana Indiana, and several Carlisle PA events. I have also had the opportunity to add to the "Mod's" on the car to make it mine. As of today my Prowler has a little over 52,000 miles on it and I have enjoyed almost every mile along the way. Yes there have been a few moments that were less than joyful but the good far outweighs the not so great moments. One of the best parts about my Prowler experience has been the people I have met along the way. Sadly, Dad decided it was time to let his Black Tie go and sold it last year. He does miss it but still has the memories. This message has been edited by alrtg on 12-24-2017 at 08:41 AM |

With the limited driving months up here in Michigan, and many sets of tires later, ball joints, timing belt, and a paint job, I have been able to go over 115,000, and may have received that many thumbs up and smiles when driving down the road. All that makes the journey with the car very enjoyable. |

I bought mine from the original owner 3 years ago this month with 7K miles on it. It now has almost 21K on it. I’m looking forward to the Tennessee trip in 2018 which should add another 6 or 7 thousand to it. Prowl on!! Jer |

Friends, I beg you.....PLEASE!, PLEASE! try to keep those Prowler miles down!......The fewer the better! I'll be watching the obituaries and I plan to contact your "grief stricken" widows with an immediate marriage proposal and a promise that she and I will go cruise'n and start havin' a WHOLE BUNCH of fun at Prowler events just as soon as your old, miserable "no fun" carcass cools and we can get your sorry azz planted....(by the lowest priced funeral home of course, since we know that you like to be conservative) P.S....Tell her to send me a picture of the Prowler along with verification of mileage and a clear title...(Her profile and photo isn't necessary) This message has been edited by bjprowler on 12-25-2017 at 06:45 PM |

I have been a little "nutty" when it comes to keeping records on the Prowler. I have a binder with over 600 pages of pictures and notes. The 97 today has a total of 56,928 miles. The most I drove in one year was in 2008 when I drove her 5,892 miles. The least I drove was in 2014 with only 1,145 miles. The average per year mileage for 20 years averaged out to be 2,846 miles. I hope to drive it 100,000 miles. With the rate I am going I will be 96 years old. |
