BT161, Those stools for the Hot Rod Roadhouse and related accessories are sold by California Car Cover Company and Bonneville Speed and Supply, and some other places... Well Crud. Nevermind, I just checked their websites and most recent catalogs and both seem to have dropped that stool. Cal Car Cover still has a Hot Rod Roadhouse sign, but no more stools, Tshirts, etc from that series... This message has been edited by lavka on 05-14-2004 at 10:39 PM |

I wish I had a separate garage for the cats......I'd be able to do one heck of a garage with all my memorabilia stuff!! Unfortunately, they have to share space with our other vehicles and it's used every day, rain, shine and snow weather! |

Looks very nice now....................for my 2 cents on tile on garage floors IF you must use the garage for a daily use vehicle in all weather conditions........HEAT, RAIN, SNOW.......it will allow water and crud from the bottom of the car to drip off on the floor and in time will cause the floor to lift around the edges of the tile. The HOT tires coming in in the summer will cause the tile to soften in spots and get stained that will be hard to remove ( clean & wax the floor often) I love the look but for me I have to use the garage for other cars than the Prowler, Dart and imperial. I thought about doing 1/2 of the garage with tile or carpet, but then decided it would just not have the LONG TERM durability of an epoxy floor. For anyone thinking about installing a floor covering in their garage needs to think of how the area will be used and what conditions they will indure. Having worked with commercial grade floor tiles for years they are a high maintenance for the finish to remain like new. Go into any old building and look at the tile. Any imperfections in the floor will cause cracking or bubbles in the tile. The epoxy floor is much more durable and if installed correctly it will last longer than the concrete it is attached to. It can be put down in a rainbow of colors and designs. It is more exspensive than a vinyl tile floor but the elements do not affect it. We take and wipe up spilled oil & gas (don't ask) with no damage to the coating. In the winter we mop the floor and it still looks like new. I could have had a logo in the floor (he really wanted to do that) Could have had black and white checkerboard, but would have doubles the cost, so I went cheap and a single color with red, white and blue flake on gray (Imperial-white, red interior, Dart-white, Blue interior, Sue wanted yellow too for the Prowler but I said no) I'm not trying to rain on anyones parade amd if you are happy with the floor you have that is great. Why I'm posting is to let the others that are thinking about doing their floor have something to think about when deciding on what floor material they want to use before spending the time, money and effort I know it isn't worth anything but that is my 2 cents My floor after the epoxy was put down |

Larry, from a large number of people I have talked to about their floors after years of use, most would agree with you. Most with tiles have regretted it later on as have those with the plastic race deck type tiles. |

Thanks for bringing up this thread again as it is very timely. We are building another garage up north for the Prowlers and the RUMBLER! It won't be anything like some of the garages I've seen here, but it will be my dream garage. I'm very interested in the flooring choices. Good reading, Larry. |

This was my project this past winter I went with the RaceDeck Tuffshield Flooring This tile has a protective coating on it. After 1 season it still looks like the day I installed it Time will tell how it will hold up Took about 4 hrs to install and most of the time was spent trimming the edges. We put down sheet linoleum down 6 months after pouring the slab. It was really expensive stuff, looks a lot like wood. We put the same stuff into them small hallway leading to the garage too... I take a power washer to it a couple of times a year, then put a matte sealer on it once every other year. Its been down 16 years and still looks really good. |
