Ed, idive told you about my 2002 inca, there was a problem with one rivot, so they ordered another one (warranty), when it came in it said PLYMOUTH, at first i was p.o'd, then i decided to keep it> ITS BALANCED!!! like wildcat said(its all personal preference) BUT I WOULD NOT HAVE IT ANY WAY ELSE...i love the balance, with the shimmers > most people know them as plymouth prowlers though. **GO FOR IT** ------------------ |

Ed - You'll have a one of a kind, limited edition, totally stock, Plymouth Candy Red Prowler. Excellent decision. Besides, Jay can get another $30 out of your fat wallet, lol. |

Ed, Here's the story: Packard had a hood mascot called a Pelican. Then some young hot shot in the advertising dep't starting calling it a Cormorant before the big shots could get control of the situation. They fired the kid and tried to reverse it back WITHOUT SUCCESS. Ever since, Packard's hood ornament is known as a Cormorant. Same story here. You're driving a Plymouth Prowler. Once THE CAT IS OUT OF THE BAG--IT'S OUT. I don't know who at Chrysler tried to rename this car but maybe that's why Lutz is now at General Motors. Convert it back and enjoy your Plymouth. |

Hey Ed - you get a 3.5 engine from a 97, switch the computer mirror and shifter bezel with your 99, change the suspension, and get silver wheels. The only people that would be confused are other Prolwer Owners. Most others have no clue of the differences from year to year. Do what you like, as long as you keep it "stock except for the mods" |

ED.... ...if you insist on bumpers, why not go with these Real Rod beautys? If you're determined to go with the factory bumper set up..I'd make the car a PLYMOUTH! (I'm also going to take this opportunity to take a boot swing at DC for changing the name to Chrysler Prowler). I think the change kind of muddy's up the heritage to the car? OK..I'm done now...Paint the bumpers and put shimmers into the Plymouth and Prowler. JMO. |

I'd leave one blank. I don't think it looks "balanced" because "Plymouth" and "Prowler" are different fonts. |

Wow, I am amazed by the different reasons but strong feelings that go both ways. I really appreciate the input. CTProwler sent me a few pictures of his Candy with Candy bumpers and one Cracked Ice shimmer and one blank. Thanks, Chuck. The second Prowler owner that I EVER met was Roger from Seattle. He was one of the main event planners for the Grand Canyon event. His opinion means a lot to me (especially since it coincides with my opinion, in this case, lol). Interesting story about the Packard emblem. I had never seen a cormorant until we were at the Bay of Fundy, about 6 years ago. They were plentiful there. I had never heard that story and did not know the Packard emblem was called a cormorant. I was leaning toward the Plymouth bumper, obviously, since I went ahead and bought one. If everyone else thought it was a stupid idea, I might have been swayed. Since Alley Cat, Butchcee, my dad Dave Mills, Roger, Wildcat, Wayne Finch, CNote Chris, DavidN, Rich Ware, Dale (Blubyu), IDive, Mike the DQman, RadKat Rich, and Roman (Dr Prowler) all approve, I am going to put the Plymouth on the car. I will also have the plain Chrysler bumper painted so I can always switch it back. Sandy votes "No" and I usually listen to what she has to say (and then do what I want to do, lol). I appreciate the input and respect the reasons that the others gave me, but I was heavily in favor of doing the Plymouth bumper. One thing for sure, we don't agree wholeheartedly on hardly anything on this board. That is what makes it interesting. I fogot this one, Bob Real Rod Goetz, your idea sucks. lol. Ed, You have made the correct decision. It is not your fault that chrysler misbadged your PLYMOUTH PROWLER, but you can fix that. Start collecting Plymouth emblems like you do baseball cards. They are going up in price. Even Lutz is buying. P.S. Everyone loves an orphan car. |

Hmmm.. One question..Do you have your hood badge on still? Would you have to change that too? Other wise, maybe it is possible to carve "Chrysler" on the left bumper with a dremel tool? (risky) Or maybe get Jay to make a custom "Chrysler" shimmer for the rear bumper? Who knows? Maybe Jay might get a bunch of people interested in Chrysler shimmers....It wouldn't be recessed, but noone could tell from 5 feet away. ------------------ |

Ed, my god man I should have known you had a display board of PLYMOUTH emblems--you being on the leading edge of what in the collector world will turn hot. Take that board to auction if Lutz is in the crowd and you'll be rich. Now that you have your Plymouth back, I think you should personally track down the rascal at chrysler who tried to rebadge your car. And post the varmit's name on this website so that we can take appropriate action.

Ed, Sorry I didn't see this sooner. I have the answer. If it was me I would go with the Plymouth on the left but for you, have the left one carved and get a special shimmer from Jay so it reads Stock Prowler what do you think? |

Ed - Sorry I'm late on posting my opinion, but for once I agree with Marty. Paint 'em and just leave Prowler to shimmer. It thinks it would look better not balanced. I'm looking out my office window now at 2 cars, 1 pick-up and 4 SUVs and all have only one name on the back with all but one having the name on the right. ------------------ |
