Ed..........all the paint that Chrysler did for the Prowlers was PPG.........no BASF. |

Ed,As CJ says, even if it's PPG, Chrysler has never made paint available(except in touch up bottles)to parts departments to order. If we need paint our body shop mixes their own or can be ordered through local PPG supplier. Bruce ------------------ |

Ed, There should be no reason for having paint matching issues. We use PPG paints here on all of our products and with just a few exceptions, our products match right out of the box to Prowler that are several years old. Any who tells you different either doesn't really know how to match colors or cannot do the job properly. 99% of all paints can be matched. When you get into the 3,4, & 5 stage paint jobs, they can get pretty tricky. You just have to have the experience to do it correctly. As I have previously posted, try contacting the paint shop that is owned by a Prowler owner in Golita, CA? That is a person with direct Prowler experience and with many years of owning a paint facility. Just my 2 cents worth. Have a great day! |

An update for any in the SB area... Well, I got my kat back yesterday after being at John Briggs Motorsports for paint. The paint job is wonderful. I don't know if he scrapped his BASF plans and went for PPG (will need to contact him), but the job is wonderful. I saw the car in shop with only the primer/undercoat, and I must say that unless I knew where my kat was damaged I wouldn't be able to tell. The repainting is simply seamless. I am thankfully impressed. Unfortunately, the gouges in the taillight assembly remain. It's really difficult to find them, but knowing where the damage is I can still pick them out. I am going to go back to the dealer to see if they'll replace that lens assembly like they originally said they would instead of being cheap and hiding the scratches under a really good polish and detailing job done by the body shop. So worse comes to worse, John Briggs in SB knows how to paint orange kats and does a good job ed |

And even better...the dealer had the spare taillight but had forgotten to install it...so now she's good as new (well, mental trauma aside...). Now I have to make up for lost time! ed |
