just looking at the yrly price that you pay is not sufficient. the state and county live in multi car discount,# of drivers, occassional useage(# of miles /yr) all of you should repost if really comparing What is entailed in "AGREED VALUE" |

I just got two rate quotes, one from Hagerty and the other from Grundy. Hagerty was $759 with agreed value of $50k, no deductibles on coll and comp. Grundy was $730 for same coverage. I think I will be changing very soon. I now pay over $1300 yr. Grundy Hagerty Get a free quote ------------------ This message has been edited by MDProwler on 02-24-2004 at 09:07 PM |

The only way to compare if you got a good deal or not, would be to find other Prowler owners of same age group in your immediate area. Anything else posted is meaningless because it not only varies from state to state but, also within each state depending on statistics for a given geography and density. We recently moved about 600 yards from our last home and our insurance dropped dramatically. Why? We moved from what is considered a high density, higher crime, high accident rate county to one that is not. Still do most of my driving in the other county but, it's dictated by where you live, not drive. |

The Hagerty or Grundy sounds like the way to go. Does anyone have any experience with either one? My quote from Hagerty is half what I am paying Farmers.. |

$385 every 6 months with State Farm. Good driving record and it is my 3rd vehicle. As Ed says location makes a big difference, also age, driving record and previous claim history. |

One thing different with Hagerty & Grudy insurance compared to your standard insurance co. (State Farm, Allstate & etc.) is Hagerty & Grudy assign a value to your car (i.e. $50k) where as standard Insurance companies will only give you market value (i.e.$35k). This really effects you if you have a custom paint job or lots of mods on your car. because in a total loss you would never get the proper payout for your car if it got totalled. my 2 cents |

It's become obvious to me that I'm paying too much in auto insurance for my two vehicles. While I understand a lot of factors dictate the rate one gets, this thread has been vary valuable to me and is just one more reason this site is so useful. Thanks! |

My 57 Chev is with Grundy all my other cars are with American Family. I have had claims with American Family and they seem to be fair. My son on the other hand has Progressive and I am having to deal with them ( 3 Weeks now ) on a total loss, what a bunch of CRAP. On a car that has a $6600 NADA Book and a $7150 Kelly Book and a $6390 Edmunds book their opening offer was $4900 before deductible, they now have their offer up to $5900 and I would have taken that 2 weeks ago but know I am going for $6500 just because they have been a pain. He is shipping out for Japan Friday and will not need a car for 16 months so I have all the time in the world. Sorry for the rambling. ------------------ |

I had a claim with Grundy about 4 years ago and from the time I reported it to the time I had a check was 4 or 5 days. My Corvette was hit in a parking lot no body saw it claim was $5000 and change. ------------------ |
