I'm wondering what a veteran Prowler owner would say to a New Prowler rookie, if they were asked to list the Top 10 modifications. In order what should they do to make the Kat run better, look better? ------------------ |

Well the Prowler modifications are something most people decide for them self's, Myself the only must is to have enough vacation time to do everything with this group! If you have not attended a gathering you should, I talk with the POA people on the phone and on the net every day and to attend an event and put faces to the names makes posting on this page even more fun. |

I see everyone is aways quick to suggest the ceramic brake pads. I realize they last a lot longer than the metal ones, but since they are so hard don't they tend to heat the rotors up more and tint them blue a little? I've seen this happen on other cars with the ceramic pads, have any of you who've installed these had a problem with that yet? |

I don't feel that the ceramic pads are perticularly harder than stock, in fact they feel more or less exactly the same. They seem to stop the same, no better, no worse, except you'll have a whole lot more spare time not constantly cleaning the backs of your front wheels and your front suspension. JRL |

Oh, and if you're heating up your rotors that much that they turn blue I would suggest installing a super high performance braking system, i.e. Brembo or like. JRL |

WildCat, I have been following things here for about 5 months and your post is the first to mention 'shower rod covers on rear axles'. What's that all about? |

This pre-assumes, of course, the number 1 answer: active participation in POA by asking questions and posting replies and experiences. Without that, most of the others would not be possible (how would we find out about them?) These are mine with a couple that haven’t been mentioned yet: 1. Front Mud Flaps (plus Spare front mud flaps, plus extra spare mud flaps). 2. TGF Hardtop with a lift to install and remove it. 8. Zaino after Claying. 10. Late-model ignition key with terminally cute little Kitty filled in with matching paint. Mods I'm waiting for: |

Thanks Gary, But no, this one has about the same coverage as the one I have - I bought the one from Z-Graphics before DekProTec became available (I think that's the one you're showing). The hardtop goes about 3" further back than the convertible and stops about 1/2" in front of the center brake light housing. With the hardtop on, I can see the back edge of the protector from inside the car. What I may do is mark the outer edge of the hardtop before I take it off the next time (supposed to be in the 50's next week) and take a picture to post. Perhaps one of our vendors would like to offer an extended unit. Any other ideas? -GRROWL P.S. - I consider the protector to be essential - I can see all of the scratches on it from the soft-top that would otherwise be in the paint. I guess it's time to look at a version to do the same for the hardtop. This message has been edited by GRROWL on 01-31-2003 at 04:04 PM |

tectrum@mindspring.com Email Paul and it should only be 5 or 6 clicks to make an extended one, if it was me I would color match or a clear 3M film, JMO...... I am sure some of the hardtop owners would like the same... Hope this helps Happy Trails |

I had one made by my local graphics guy. I think it is a definite must. I had mine made in Red to match the paint. It is actually a hair darker on the paint but not very noticable. |
