Okay, okay...........for three years Bob has been adamant about keeping the black cat “stock”. Other than the Mopar/Borla exhausts, he would not let me make any other modifications........I’ve wanted flames since I got that car! Then he gave me the Candy Cat..........we did put the Mopar/Borla exhausts on that too. No one was more shocked than I when he started contemplating custom side panels. Quite some time ago, he posted on the board about some virgin side panels that he had available. One of the sets was for my cat and several other owners inquired about the remaining sets. They have been spoken for. It was a long process, deciding on a design for the side panels. While we were in CA for a car show, we made a visit to SoCal Speed shop. I worked with Pete Chapouris and we decided on a louver design that we were all happy with. Since the Prowler has been considered a retro car, a throwback to the old hot rods, we felt the traditional louver design would add to that look. It was a matter of placing the louvers on the panel that would follow the design lines of the panel and the car. After overcoming some obstacles in the process of punching the louvers, the panels were finally done. In the meantime, we also decided to paint a set of bumpers Candy Red. We also had a chrome grille that Bob had done for the black cat, but I wasn’t sure I liked it, so I never put it on the car. We decided as long as we were breaking tradition about mods for the car, we’d put that on the Candy Cat too!!! The panels and bumpers were finished the Wednesday right before the Skyline Drive Cruise event. Bob put them on Wed. night and we left for the cruise Friday morning. I didn’t have time to take pictures and post them, so I just let it be a surprise!!! Talk about cutting it close!! Hmmmmmmmmm...........I wonder what could be next!? Keep in mind, that the modifications we have done can be changed back to “stock”. That's the reason why Bob had a “change of heart”. There have been a lot of side panel modifications done for the Prowler and they are all very different. That’s what makes it fun...........it’s a personalization by each owner for their cat. Here are some “official” pictures!!

CJ, looks great. The painted bumpers really look good - I thought the black bumpers really dulled the look of the vibrant Candy paint. Too bad my bumpers are already gone. Side panels must have been a lot of work. |

I saw CJ's Candy Cat at CTC. The painted bumpers really add to her Cat. The side panels are awesome as well. You can tell allot of time and effort went into them. CJ has one of the best chromed stock grilles I have ever seen. |

The car looks even better in person than it does in the photos!! If you are going to have bumpers - body color is the way to go. Love the louvers, too! Marty |

Cj, Remember.. Bars by Kal. Go wild with your paint idears, look great, remove and back to stock. You can do like I am going to do, have Kal paint two or three and swap them when you want different looks. How many painted cool looking cats can do that? Just an idear. ------------------ |

Very nice CJ! Congrats on getting Bob to change his mind Now.... those flames. I was going to suggest some vinyl flames or something that can be removed like Onaprowl suggests! You can even swap them back and forth between the red and the black C'mon Bob!!! Maybe we can get him to look at my flames again while we are in Vegas??????? ------------------ |

OK, I'm jealous of your side panels. I may have Ed steal them at your next event! Bumpers look great painted, but I would have left the red grill in and put the chromed one on the black cat of yours. The chromed one on the black cat would make it jump out at you, where as on the red cat it only enhances the front somewhat. Have Bob swap them around next spring and feel the excitement the chrome will add to the black kitty. JMO Glad the mods have come to Rochester Hills,,,,,,we have been waiting awhile to see when Bob would change his mind |

A/C, I saw the mods in person and the pictures do not do the grille justice. With the painted bumpers the grille stands out a ton and it looks fabulous. The black is stock and is a stealth vehicle. The candy red one is now one of the nicest looking Prowlers that I have seen. JOMO. |

A/C..........tried it both ways.......candy grille vs. chromed grille. Preferred the chrome grille. With the red bumpers and grille, it was almost too much red! I think the chrome grille better enhanced the candy bumpers! I can always get another grille for the black cat! Thanks all for the compliments on the candy cat........I am thrilled with it! |
