Must've picked up a nail last nite but front tire is gone - went out this morning and found 4 lbs of pressure. I've called everywhere and no one has or can get the Goodyear runflats. These are pretty new tires with barely 10K miles on them...I can't replace only one and am not too thrilled about buying 2 new tires. Any suggestions?????

Plug the deal until you get one new tire, just one tire is fine, it not going to be that big of a deal, people do it all the time, call tirerack for best price have one shipped today and run around on the plugged or patched tire.

Save the old tire if you repair it.

CW - if the nail is in the tread it should be OK to plug. On my original runflats I had at least two plugs in each rear tire and one in driver's side front. I never had plug come out and drove over 30,000 miles with first plug.

If nail is in sidewall, you should replace tire for safety precaution.

Good Luck

During my wheel disaster last year Deb, I replaced one front tire. I have not had any problems and I had 8,000 miles on the tires.

Thanks guys.....I'm heading over to Discount Tire now since I purchased from them. They already went through their system and no one has the tire in stock. Checked Tire Rack - the tire is no longer available out there. Called the Goodyear shops and they don't have any idea what I'm talking about; they don't carry.

I'm checking with cnote as well.

www.all-tires.com shows they have the tire in stock.

If the nail was in the tread and not the side wall I agree with the advise of the others and would have the tire repaired.

well.....turns out to be a hole in the sidewall. They can't plug, patch or repair in any way. Since I have free replacement through Discount Tire (on their $355 tire), I will go through them, if possible. They found two in Victorville so will have to have them shipped ~ probably mid week. Thanks for the info on the website Scotty. If I have to go out and purchase new ones, that's where I'll go.

Thanks Larry. Tried calling you back but didn't leave a msg on the machine this time. I appreciate your offer ~ don't you think one chrome rim with the rest of my painted ones will stand out a bit? LOL! This might be stupid but I don't think I'll do that. I get enough grief driving the car out in this weather anyway. I can carpool into work - I just need to work out the rest of my weekend. Thanks again. Have fun tonite.

Deb, did the low tire warning system work on the way home or did the tire just go flat in the night. I've heard a lot of complaints about the warning system and the low tire light and wondered if a person...every once in awhile... should bleed a tire down to 18 pounds and then drive around the block and air up again... just to see if the warning system works properly.

Deb,
Hope you get it with in a week.
I had my tire replaced a couple months ago and it was also delivered from Victorville. Victorville is less than 60 miles from me, it took seven days for it to get here. They later told me I should have used UPS, I told them had I known it was going to take a week I would have drove there and picked it up.
Good luck to you, hope your back on the road soon.

I have always been fortunate where the tire sensor is concerned. Mine come on every now and then...when it cools off dramatically. I normally check my tires once a week also. I drove the car all day on Friday, no problem. The sensor light and sound did come on when I left the car show Friday nite. The show is a mile from my house and it was about 10:30 so I went directly home. Sat morning I went directly to the gas station, the sensor going crazy. When I checked the pressure was 4 lbs, I knew it was more than a slow leak, lol. I could hear the air blowing out of the tire.

I am guessing it may take the week to get a new tire. It took that long when I ordered this new set earlier this year. I'll keep you all updated.
