Bobkat,

You hit the nail directly on the head when it comes to the sales experience. I had much the same when I bought my car.

However, my service experience has been nothing short of spectacular. The service department at Ontario Chrysler has been the very best that I've ever worked with. Many of the SoCal Prowlers are now serviced there and I'm sure many more will be in the future as they encounter problems.

It's unfortunate that not all dealer service departments are up to "Five Star" quality. Check around in your area and don't let some bad experiences at you dealer make you think that all are the same. Mine is definately not.

I have found a 5 star dealer that I trust however the dealers that I had experienced prior were very substandard, you have to be sure when you buy a prowler to look on the sticker and see what dealership the car was shipped to. If you aint at that dealership some other non allocated Plymouth dealer bought it from a larger dealership. That is common here in northern Wis, with many small Mom And Pop dealerships. They cant even order a prowler so often they will buy a car from a larger dealer that gets an allocation. They however have no equipment or training to service the car so you are left driving to a larger dealer for that kinda quality service. For the uneducated first time buyer they assume a plymouth dealer is a plymouth dealer and they all can work on any DC product and do it well, not so. If we all were so satisfied how in a 94 vote sampling do 40% of us owners feel our service cocerns are fair to very poor, Yes, 48% were excellent but in my business a 40% non satisfaction rate is poor. I went to Woodhouse in Blair Nebraska to buy my second car and could not believe how professional and cautious the service techs were. Driving the car in sock feet with there shoes off and other small considerations really make you feel confident. I am in no means slamming all dealerships. I ,like Todd Cameron, however have a bad taste in our mouth for how I(we) were treated. I bought a new PT Cruiser that came from Mexico with engine oil in the transaxle, bleedling like a gut shot deer all over my driveway. After a rear main seal replace by one dealer I ended up with a new transmission from another. Is not the car its the dealers who make this hobby, disease, infatuation, love or whatever a pain in the a#$. If the market is saturated and they are having trouble selling them Boo friggen who, they made ther over priced market adjusted bed so sleep in it, dont cry if the bed is a little lumpy!!

The cat is the best toy I own and I bought my cat from another state the local dealer said it was too much work to get a car and I offered sticker when I first went in. Another local dealer said he was not sure he could get another car. So I went looking and bought a blue the best color! The best part I only paid $43,800 went back to the local dealer and he said he didn't think I was serious. Go in with a old car and jeans and the dealers act like you are just kicking tires. So that may be why the cars are not selling if a dealer has one.

Hey, now, not everyone had an experience from Hades when they bought. I dealt with the nicest bunch of small town Oklahomans who, like many, received a single unit allocated car. They could not have been more accommodating. I know, it sounds Pollyannish, but it they were a pleasure to deal with and made exactly list price on my car and didn't make me feel like dirt for making a comfortable profit in doing so.

As for service, fingers crossed, I haven't had any problems that required dealer service.

I know many of you had a lousy time and paid way over list. Sorry about that. I can relate because there is a Chrysler dealer not 4 blocks from my home I wouldn't take my kid's coaster wagon to for a repair. Consequently, my service goes to a Dodge dealer on the outskirts. None of them are stellar performers but most try to be reasonable business people and treat you humanely. (Note I didn't go all the way to saying "humanly")

The numbers for the Prowler are low, very low compared to any other car. The low production Vetts have always looked like all the others Vetts. Look close at the Prowler, nothing like it anywhere. This is why we all get the looks, waves, and thumbs up. I have read where people may get rid of there Prowler but it is for more speed, or cost to keep up, or to small for the family. This is one of the few cars I see that people have two, three, four or more in a family. You can make changes, add this and that, improve looks , speed, and ride, etc if you want to. What other car can you do that with. Oh! One other thing look at the friends you now have on this board, special people with a special car. Keep on PROWLING.

Lots of good comments here and the one that hits home is the situation caused by overpricing the car. As a Dealer you have to ask yourself if you want one sale or quite a few. The first step is fair pricing, and that MUST be followed by continued service and support. If you want to have the opportunity to have a chance to resell your customers, you have to follow these simple rules, as the only obligation that anyone has in a automotive purchase is the Dealer - not the customer. We sell our Prowlers and Vipers under MSRP , and we are just one of many quality, fair minded ones across the country.

I have bought 3 Prowlers and a 2000 Viper GTS from Bill at Woodhouse....I have had good luck with most dealers thru the years, but Woodhouse is a cut above average...very fair pricing, merchandise in stock when you want it, and delivered right to your door in an enclosed trailer....I will continue to buy all my specialty cars from Bill as the years go on...have another new Viper on order now...give them a try, guarantee you will be happy...tell him Buck the world famous hunting dog sent you for a special deal, well maybe just a chuckle...

I would also give Bill Pemberton from Woodhouse an A+++. My previous post covers the fine service dept. they have. He is a stellar sales person who knows all angles of these vehicles. His professionalism, honesty and laid back no pressure sales approach is second to none. I will buy from him again.
