or clogged filter or even more likely..bad gas, water or dirt in it. More common than you think. I only get KAT food at national brand or new stations.

SnoCat, Sassy may be right, but for a different reason. I think our tank is fibre and has a liner that flakes occasionally. Maybe clogged pickup. You would notice the contaminated gas right after the fill up. Try a battery disconnect and reconnect to correct a puter burp affecting the pressure regulator. ------------------ |

happened to me a couple times within 3 months after i got mine. what you have to do is start the kat and when it is attempting to fully start press the gas for about 3 seconds and release. see what happens ------------------ |

Tried the Puter Burp..Didn't help..My Nearest dealer is 100 miles..Would have to hall it , If Chrysler hauls it and finds bad gas,I guess I pay theHauling.. Maybe will try siphon the gas out ..I did just fill it Up.. |

Look under the carpet in trunk and tank lines should be there (not sure about this and my Cat is gone so I cant check.) Maybe you can pump out from there with an aux pump and then refill normally. Add dry gas to mix the residule water with the gas and try to run it out. Check with your dealer to see if the short usage of the dry gas(alky) will hurt anything. Hope it is as easy as bad gas. Maybe Sassy was right! ------------------ This message has been edited by butchcee on 06-10-2001 at 07:03 PM |

That is what I did years ago, you can get a syphon pump at any large store, (hand spueeze with long tube) at WalMarts, and pump it into to clean glass jar. Put the syphon all the way in, till it reaches the bottom. If the gas is cloudy....yipes....caca. Sasy ------------------ |

SnowKat, before you go thru all that trouble and siphoning all the gas out, go to your regular gas station to see if they can give you some water finder paste. They use it to check for rainwater in their tanks. Put some on the tip of a rod or something and insert it into the fuel tank. The gray color paste will turn purple if water is present. |

Don't you have CustomerOneCare. 800-521-2779. You give them your name, VIN and license plate number, your location and nature of the problem. They are on the way. It doesn't mention the fact that they won't help you if you have bad gas. I don't think they will think you did it on purpose. If you are not a certified Prowler tech, they can't expect you to diagnose the problem and fix it. |

Can somebody give Snocat - Neal, the Texas Prowler Tech's email address? I'd ask him first for his opinion before going further on this. Neal has helped us many times before, and I value his knowledge. Worth a try........ |

Hey now Sno, there is a access panel under the carpet in the trunk. You will be able to get to the fuel pump *** . from there. Also, to clear the computer, you need to unhook the battery for 10 min. Never had this problem so I'm just guessing but you ecu may be faulty................. ------------------ |

Very little chance it is bad gas. Computor problem or fuel pump!! Let dealer handle 100% , don't try to track. Most likely a waste of time !!! |

does sound like a fuel problem. may wont to purchase a fuel pressure guage.there is a fuel pressure outlet on the left side of the engine between the intake runners. it will have a cap on it unscrew it and hook up guage. should have about 40-50 lbs. at idle watch guage as you acell. does it drop to zero.if it does you need a fuel pump. e-mail me if you need any more help |
