I grew up in Pontiac in the 60's and remember Sanders at TelHuron center and my granny would buy me a loaf of french bread. I would eat it all at one sitting. Remember Three Sisters Market in Pontiac? What about the kid's sized loaves of bread that you could get at the store? I remember seeing the new cars driving down Huron street wraped in brown wraping paper to hide the new styles! As they say, those were the days. ------------------ |

By JohnS (above) - Remember when calculators first came out and the death of the slide-rule? This reminded me of a display case that I made. I've loaned it for display at 'The St. Louis Science Center', in St. Louis Mo. It is titled 'The 20th Century Evolution Of The Calculator'It shows the 'slide rule', the first four-function electronic calculator (1973), the 'scientific calculator' (1975) that permanently retired the 'slide rule'. Then around 1990 came the computer for widespread use. Display also has many 'Handbooks' with graphical data, conversion tables, empirical charts & tables.
