what do you need gas for, your office is in the basement...make cookie walk to work as an excerise program.....don't tell her you are too cheap to buy gas

I find my Twinkie supply running dangerously low on a daily basis, thus causing me to forage for supplies at the local Village Pantry....Cookie is spoiled after all these years of having a vehicle to drive....last time she walked to work she was ticketed for not having "WIDE LOAD" printed on her t-shirt....

The cost of every by-product will also go up. Plastic products will go up in price. Shipping will be killing the price of everything. Buy a motorcycle now and get rid of the gas guzzlers. I played golf today and we played right where the Miami river, Whitewater River and Ohio River meet. All are way up and all of that water goes to the Mississippi and eventually New Orleans. I hope they can get the dykes all repaired quickly or the water will be 20 feet high for weeks down there. That city will never be the same. What a shame.

WHO ARE THE ONES LOOTING NOW BECAUSE OF THE STORM?
In Jersey (With the price gouging of Labor Day & Hurricane Katrina "opportunity") The "Calm" before the storm: (average) 93 Octane @ $2.58 THE RAPE after the storm: (average) 93 Octane @ $3.69 (Shell/Raceway/Amoco/HESS) All went up an average of $1.10 overnight... Exxon was the only one who did not go crazy, they only went up to around $2.98) Lines were out into the street the first night. I stopped using their gas after the Valdez oil spill way back when. Might be time to cruise with those Prowler Go-Carts if you got 'em WildBill

I haven't responded the last 3 days because of giving my full attention 18 - 20 hours a day getting fuel to supply our customers and emergency agencies. I send a load (8,500 gallons) a day of road diesel to a bus company that is contracted to take volunteers to New Orleans and then to take evacuees to other points. As of this writing we have 42 out of the 164 store we supply out of gas. Panic buying drew down inventories. The 2 major pipelines are 68% and 40% operable. Once they are fully operable and draw down inventories of finished product (gas) in storage at the refineries the next problem is getting product refined, since only 2 of the 8 refineries in LA & Miss are open. Flooding and lack of power are hindering refinery re-starts.

Have you noticed tho that when they go back down, it's only about 10-20 percent of the increases?

With the high gas prices I still can't comprehend why numerous people are still traveling WAY above the speed limit? I commute almost 100 miles roundtrip on a daily basis. I swear some of these drivers drive like their A$$ IS ON FIRE!!! I mean they must realize that traveling at such a high rate of speed consumes so much more gas. All that extra gas to arrive a whole 5-10 minutes sooner at your destination. Brian

$2.99 - $3.09 here.Wal Mart has been at around $2.85 and they have constantly had a long line waiting to buy gas for the past couple days. The 7-11 across the street at $3.09 has been empty.
