There is some lubricant on the O ring which makes it look messy in the pics. |

Steve, a local owner is now able to repair them. He needs your old center cap, of course. He wants me to be the middle man, handling the shipping, etc. He owns a business and has enough going on. The problem is that the epoxy is mixed automatically in a long nozzle and the nozzle can only be used once. He would rather fix several caps at the same time. Otherwise he will be using a nozzle per cap. I gave him 5 extras that I had so that he could get everything perfected. As of today he is ready to start repairing them. You can send them to me and I will take them to him. Send me a PM if you are interested. They will be $ 30 each but they should never break. He tried about 10 diff. types of adhesive. The groove that the O-ring sits in has to be the perfect depth. He owns a machine shop and has everything set up so they are consistent. He is afraid to sell a kit because the epoxy has to be done perfectly and the parts have to be aligned perfectly, also. |

Hi ED, I need to have 2 repaired. I had new tires installed a few months ago. I removed my wheels over the weekend to finish polishing the frame and GRRRRRRRR!!! I found BOTH center caps had 3 tabs broken, but the tire guy had siliconed the center caps back on my wheels so I wouldn't notice. Your friend's fix looks like a good one. Please tell me where to send them for repair. Until then.. My rear wheels are NAKED !!! |

Mickey, If you will go to No Problem Raceway with us, I will glue them back on for the race so that I don't have an unfair advantage. You need to put some miles on ole # 156 anyway. I just turned 40,000 miles last week. Finally got her broke in. Seriously, it is a fun time and for a worthy cause. Come on and go with us. A couple of us from Dallas and a group from Houston meeting Saturday morning to head east. Ed, I have them ready to ship to you for repair.... |

Brad, I will bring two replacements with me. That way you will have them for sure. We are coming to Laddie's raceway. All the employees want me to run the motorcycle again (for laughs, AT me, not with me). It is PVC so it is light weight, no problem. |

Ed, I received my repaired center cap and it looks great. I have not tried it yet but can't see why it will not solve all our problems. Thanks Gary This message has been edited by GaryE on 03-19-2008 at 08:58 AM |

Gary, Brad G got two repaired and Tami Faye had a broken one so I took her broken one and sold her a repaired one. I think it solves the long term problem for good. Hope you are satisfied but if not, full money back on it. |

Installed mine at the dragstrip last Sunday. They are holding on tight and easy to put on and off. I couldn't shake them loose on burn outs or racing, driving that 1000 miles on bad roads, Even when Tami blew my doors off... The center caps were still holding on tight. This is a real good permanent repair. Thanks Ed. |

You can get them around $ 50 new from the dealers that give us 10 % over cost. The bad part is that they can still break, even when new. Put liquid soap on them when you install them, at the 5 points. That will help them slid on a little easier. |
