Having failed to get Mexico and then Congress to pay for his promised “great wall” along the southern border, President Donald Trump’s White House nevertheless described 33 miles of levees and fencing in a new spending bill as a substantial victory Thursday.

Trump and his staff had been trying to carve out $25 billion in U.S. taxpayer money in the appropriations package for the budget year that ends Sept. 30, even though Trump had promised hundreds of times during his campaign in 2015 and 2016 that Mexico would pay for the wall’s construction.

Some of Trump’s political advisers, though, wall construction as critical to Trump’s survival.

He promised a wall along the Mexican border so many times over the course of his presidential campaign that failing to deliver would be disastrous ― in the November midterms and then in his presidential re-election campaign.

Trump signs the $1.3 trillion spending bill that does not make good on the wall promise.

“I would build a great wall, and nobody builds walls better than me, believe me, and I’ll build them very inexpensively,” Trump said in his Trump Tower announcement. “I will build a great, great wall on our southern border. And I will have Mexico pay for that wall. Mark my words.”

Over the coming 17 months, Trump promised many hundreds of times that he would build the wall quickly and at no cost to U.S. taxpayers.

But having Mexico pay for a wall that country does not at all support has proved unrealistic. A planned meeting between Trump and Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto was recently canceled because Peña Nieto would not back away from his refusal to pay.

In the new” spending bill, a grand total of 33 miles of the border between Mexico and the United States that is currently unsecured will get fencing, with 25 miles of that going atop new levees along the Rio Grande.

No money for the "Big Beautiful Wall, that China will pay for." Only a partial fence and levee.

Military also said "No can do".

And it's unconstitutional, but that never stops deplorables from trying and then getting shot down.

So it's a fence that you and I, the taxpayers, will pay for.

Such a deal, I tell you.

I ask you Tomcal how many US Citizen deaths at the hands of an illegal alien are acceptable to you before we secure the boarder? I'm with Laura that even one is unacceptable.

Ingraham: Crimes Committed by Illegal Immigrants Often 'Buried' or Not Reported by Media

'Even one American life lost is too much.'

In her opening monologue, Laura Ingraham looked at some under-reported "American tragedies," arguing that crimes committed by illegal immigrants in the United States largely go unnoticed.

"American citizens brutalized, abused, murdered by illegal aliens," Ingraham said. "Yet most of these stories are buried at the back of the local metro sections in your local papers. And most of them are never heard on national news broadcasts. ... So tonight, we're going to report on a handful of these American tragedies."

She pointed to the case of Constantino Banda-Acosta, a Mexican national who was deported 17 times before he allegedly crashed his truck into a family's van in San Diego and fled the scene. A young boy in a child safety seat in the backseat suffered serious head trauma and now suffers from cognitive issues.

She noted that another illegal immigrant, Jose Luis Alonso-De Leon, is charged in the fatal hit-and-run of a woman in Fairhope, Alabama. Authorities said he had been deported twice and had used at least seven different aliases in the past.

Ingraham also reported on Billy Yoe Budier-Herrera, believed to be an undocumented immigrant, who brandished a machete and tried to take two infants from their mothers at a Louisiana Walmart.

She also noted several other recent incidents allegedly involving illegal immigrants, including child pornography, rape and murder.

She said these examples only scratch the surface of the crimes that are committed on a daily basis by individuals who never should have been in the U.S. in the first place.

"Every life lost, every child harmed, every woman abused are victims of not only the criminals who committed those crimes, but also of the government that allowed criminals to enter this country in the first place," Ingraham said, adding that our elected officials are supposed to represent the American people, not cater to illegal aliens.

Failure to fund "Great Big Beautiful Wall", Failure to get Mexico to pay for wall. Some "Art of The Deal".

Even Border Patrol doesn't want Big Beautiful Wall. Stating fence, electronics and levee would be best.

Only Far Right Conservatives can't see this.

BTW..... What's being done about school shooting? God forbid one of these children or grandchildren would be yours. Why does Trump vacillate on this issue and then goes silent?

One child is too much.
