I banged up my rear fender pulling into the garage. Looking for a rear quarter in Purple. Anyone have one for sale? I know there are some on eBay for $600 but it doesn't say if they are painted. Help. This message has been edited by BeWare on 03-10-2017 at 05:17 PM |

Sorry this happened Rich. I'm sure your upset. Did it crack or just scrap paint off? Might be better to just it painted. |

quote: It's cracked. I'll look into repair cost as well. The ones on eBay for $600 are not painted. I figured I could replace the panel myself. But if not painted I would then have to pay for that as well. May be cheaper to repair and paint. And yes really mad at myself. |

If you pull that fender off, save the strip between the fender and the pan, just bought that strip, about $55.00. I know how you feel, I said a bunch of ugly words when I messed mine up! ------------------ |

Sorry Rich. Mine's the same color. The purple is a real bitch to match. When you get it done show a couple of pic's. I remember years ago getting a can of the factory touch up both a small Mopar spray can and the little brush touch up bottle. Both were no where's close. I also ordered a spray can from the Prowler store as described as, "exact factory match". That also was no where's close. That was way to dark. I haven't gone to a professional paint store yet but when I do I will probably take the gas door off and use that as an example. I don't believe anyone can use the factory paint code and have it come out a perfect match with out some tweeking of the mix. |

Finger nail polish. Brand name: essie color: damsel in a dress It is a much better match than the touch up paint. |

I had some Prowler red paint mixed and put in spray cans. The factory paint recipe was no where close. Too much orange. I had taken the car there and the paint guy would add a little more red tint to it then dab a drop on the fender. After about 4 times doing this he had a perfect match. He said in the future use only half the yellow tint called for in recipe. |

Any GOOD painter would be able to match that paint. Looks like minor damage, Much cheaper to have it repaired. Find a good body shop in your area with a top notch painter. |

Sorry to hear about the mishap Rich, as already stated a good body shop should be able to make a very good match. I have a red cat, I have the Betty Crocker paint recipe if anyone needs it. This message has been edited by Landscape Doctor on 03-16-2017 at 03:05 PM |

I cracked my front quarter on my lift a few years back. Local fiberglass guy that does race car parts repaired for $50. I painted it in my basement. Perfect match. It happens Rich. |

Update. I obtained an estimate yesterday and it was allot cheaper than buying a new quarter panel and having it crated, shipped and then painted. I decided to get the nose repainted also as it was showing signs of road rash and the typical scraps. Having both the nose done and the quarter panel are still cheaper than what it would have total cost for the new quarter panel. It's scheduled to go in the shop the week of April 10th. In on Monday out on Friday. They assured me the car would be kept covered and indoors the whole time. This message has been edited by BeWare on 03-23-2017 at 10:17 AM |

My wife almost lost it with a body shop when we had some paint work done on our van. They left the windows down and all that body shop dust had gotten inside the van. |
