Wow. Check this out from last week's Rally in the Valley in NC. I thought it looked familiar. Thanks Alley, this absolutely bought a smile to my face. Same truck? I would almost bet so. Thanks, John |

The pipes are gone and a set of color coded integrated running boards are on it, he resized the rear window and there is a custom spoiler he made, also Marty's wheels have been replaced by a set of originals. If it's not Marty's truck, he duplicated the paint, wouldn't you agree? John This message has been edited by Stray Cat on 05-24-2023 at 09:45 AM |

Chris, Get one - I now want another. Of course! They are truly fanatics. I logged on and asked questions, newbie etc. You can see the responses here to questions about the R's, etc. They are quite amazing. And, there are ones that are going very very reasonable. A black on in TX with quite a few upgrades, asking 26K, bet it went for less and was bautiful. New member section so you can get a feel for the group and like us, their enthusiasm for the Trucks : http://www.ssrfanatic.com/forums/new-member-section.114/ And here, you will find them for sale. The LS2 cars, 2005-2006, scoot quite well. I am seriously considering supercharging ours. I sat in on a tech session last week with "Dicktator" and a gentleman from TX who is an expert on them. 35% HP gain with stock exhaust. So that would put it at about 540 HP. Shelley LOVES the one touch convertable top and you will stop people in their tracks when you operate it in public. A number of them have Prowlers too. For sale: http://www.ssrfanatic.com/forums/ssrs-for-sale.12/ Good article on value: http://www.hemmings.com/stories/guides/chevrolet/ssr/ I've owned the 6 speeds, and the Auto. I am surprised at how nice the Auto is. Great transmission. Good Luck! John |

This is From a long time SSR Fanatic WRT Marty's truck : "The R at Maggie Valley has the 2007 Prototype Molded running boards, L88 Hood (I think) and the 2007 Prototype Spoiler. Both look to have the Kaminari front facia. The roof paint and rear window lead me to think it might be the same, or it was done to match the original. If not he same R, it wasn't an accident they look the same" I think it is Marty's John |

....this SSR was at a Chevy show in Palm Coast Fl in March..I asked a lady sitting next to it if she knew anything about the SSR, she replied the current owner had changed the side pipes and wheels to the current configuration....so, later in the day I find the owner, asked if it was Martys...in front of a bunch of other SSR owners, he said no, he had done all the work himself....I don't believe him, it is the same one in my opinion...can you imagine two people doing this exact custom paint scheme...he didn't seem too happy I asked him the questions I did in front of a crowd, but I was never known for being smooth |

1000% Marty's car. God bless our friend. I don't have a whole bunch of regrets in life. I'm so damn blessed. But catching up with Marty right before Steve's WV trip and not ever getting to see him, drink a beer, chat with him, is a travesty for me. I'm certain I received one of his last texts, not because I was his best friend, but because I had been out of the POA for a while and was catching up with some good people. And he was certainly that. I felt something real when I saw that truck. I cannot explain it. I just knew it was Marty's even though the guy told me the same thing, Larry. Your story confirms, it's Marty's truck. On this weekend, Love to anyone who has served, is serving, has raised a vet of someone in the service. My what we owe them all.... John |
