Is there anything concrete to do or buy to remove the rust from the bolts on the front end. I did search the topic, but was unable to come up with something concrete than can be done or was tried. please advise if you know anything besides chroming the front end. Thinking of that soon though, thanks for your help

I think Coca-cola or Pepsi on a rag and let it sit on there for a little while. It supposedly eats off the rust.

Try wire brushing the bolts and nuts and then spraying clear spray paint over them. They could be wire brushed in place with an air die grinder or an electric dremmel tool.

I will look at the code, but the paint I have used looks just the the coating the bolts originally had, you can't tell they are painted. I haven't been able to find anything else that will stop it. In any judged show I have taken them to, not one judge noticed that they were painted.

check with Real Rod and get the bolt covers for the front end. It is caps that screw on to the bolt threads to clean up the front end. They come in aluminum that can be polished or chromed.

I will try and get some pictures of them but then I have to figure out how to resize to post.

cleans up the front and looks good too

I used a product called S1000 on my bike. It worked wonders at breaking down and dissolving the rust on bolts and trim peices. You can find it at any Harley store and even Pepboys I think.

The color I found that matched the best was Dupli-Color NG CC 410 Bright Silver Met PS2 Chrysler in the tube. It gave the bolts the same look as before they started to get that rust color. Shake well, use it THIN, and only one coat.

I have chrome caps on most of the Mulholland's front end bolts, but used this on the rest and those visable from the rear end too on both Kats.

This was a detailing trick I was shown by a boss of mine many years ago. For a few bucks to try it, I think you would be suprised on how well it looks.

Most auto parts stores sell Dupli-Color touch up paint, I think Wal-Mart has it too.
