On my way home I stopped to get the lay of the land at the Hotel.

1. IF you have not booked a room DO SO NOW! they only have a few rooms left for Friday night and will be releasing the rooms on hold for the rest of the week on Monday June 20th.

2. If you have not registered DO SO NOW or you wont get a welcome bag or badges as the Dells Tourism Bureau is doing them for us and they need the list by June 20th to get it done. Here is the link www.prowleronline.com/ubb/Forum3/HTML/001107.html

3. The gas station is right at the end of the parking lot and I have informed the manager to have plenty of Premium on hand.

4. Several places to eat at with in a 1/2 a block.
BONUS just around the corner is a Classic Denny's great place for photos.

5. We get the entire rear parking lot plenty of room for trucks and trailers.
BONUS the Grand Ballroom that we will be using all week overlooks and opens into the parking area.

6. If we put groups of 20 people together the people operating the Dells Ducks will come to the hotel and pick us up and drop off, I have been told this tour is a must and they run until 7PM every night.

7. No need to get a state map I picked up 130 of them while I was there.

8. And if you want a Dells Invasion T-shirt order ASAP www.prowlerstore.com/prowlerexcitement/index.html

----From the Hotel list backing out the people I know are not going to make it HELP us contact them to get with the program. Thanks

Awesome job, Bob! We really appreciate your advance work.

Is the plan to make the maps available AFTER we're there? (Sorry buddy, not to be too picky )

Good question, Larry. Can you buy twinkies by the pallet?

Kevin

Best I can tell from the numbers we have 85 Rooms booked and 61 cars registered and 1 of those is not staying on site so that leaves 25 people to register. I know we have a few that have said they can not make it and are waiting to cancel rooms so late comers will have a place to stay but over 20? PLEASE SIGN UP NOW and make our job easier.

ONLY 33 DAYS BEFORE WE INVADE!!!

Monday night will be R O C K I N '

I have two bands booked... begin about 7PM to about 10PM

They are:

ENNUI

http://www.ennuiband.com/ennui.html

and

PUDGE

http://www.pudgemusic.com/index2.htm

While they are NOT charging us, (one of the players is my son...) they will be accepting cash donations in a jar and will have cd's for sale on site... quite reasonable.
Appreciate the support!
Thank you....Thank You... Thank you very much.

a couple of unpaid 'critiques'............ regarding the band to play at the Dells.....

I attended the Ennui show at the Music Portal on February 1, 2005. I went in to this
not knowing what to expect. I had heard some of their music prior to the show but
was not overly impressed with it. They have a sort of Days of the New and Tantric
meets Creed sound that has never appealed to me on a personal level. They are,
however.very tight.and do the music they do with passion and precision.

The first thing that stands out about this band is how strange they all look next to
each other. The thin lead vocalist and guitar player towers over the rest of the
band and makes them look about 4 feet tall. The bass player is built like a tank
with hair so dark it looks like he covered it in black shoe pollish. The drummer
looks like he would rather be anywhere but on stage with the other two. You almost
get the feeling that he wishes no one was looking at him.

As I mentioned above, the tightness of this band was obvious from the very first
song. It is apparent that they have spend a lot of time polishing their songs. The
bass lines complimented the guitar and the drums were solid. There was a nice mix of
slow and fast songs. The band would embark on a journey through a slow melody and
out of nowhere would kick it up a notch and turn it into an all out rocker before
bringing it back around to where it started. The two in front added excitement to
the performance by thrashing around and showing that they felt whatever it was they
were playing. This communicated to the audience that we should be doing the
same.without fully knowing why, we did.

There were two songs that were announced to be "new". One of the two new songs had
happy, fun, background vocals that really appealed to me. I found that the new songs
were my favorite as they had a more uplifting feel than the older ones. The band
didn't seem to be taking themselves as seriously which was a nice switch from the
pain and torment they displayed up to that point (they actually have pained frowns
on their faces when they sing). Surprisingly enough I sensed some Nirvana influence
in some of their music which I liked.

The small crowd appeared to have already been familiar with this band live. It was
very unfortanate that the turnout was not better. I believe that this band will
continue to develop a loyal following and I would highly recommend seeing them soon
before you find yourself fighting crowds and jumping on the bandwagon.

critic #2

Ennui may be french for bored but it does not reflect the band's music
or their attitudes. I've seen them several times and while they may be a
trio of quasi dorks, nontheless the guys know how to throw it down.
There has been talk about them being a cross of Creed and Nirvana. I
haven't gotten the Creed reference and the only influence from Nirvana
as far I can tell is the song "The Lion". Other than that these guys I
believe have a very unique sound that I believe all of them have a hand
in creating. Stan's songwriting is at some times very articulate and
other times just fun like the song "Sancho". Adam the drummer does a
solid job of keeping the band together while doing some pretty
impressive percussion work and some pounding fills. These guys are loud!
Phil the bassist has a unique approach to the bass lines and it shows in
songs like "Until I Know" and "Preacher's Daughter". It may be cliche to
say these guys don't sound like anyone but I can't really pinpoint
exactly who they sound like. So if you get the chance check them out for
yourselves and make your own decision. One thing is for sure is that the
guys know how to throw it down, pick it up, kiss it and then throw it
right back down. they are a great bunch of guys who don't take
themselves seriously so don't be shy and introduce yourselves if you get
out to see them, (especially the ladies, it's all about the ladies).
Also if they do anymore "unplugged" plugged shows, check it out because
they don't have to play loud to do their thing. Spread the music!

Thanks for the update, Geno. Unfortunately I am so out of touch I do not know any of the bands they were compared to. I will go with an open mind and hope for the best. It should be fun. Especially when the other POA ers get out there and dance. The key word is "other". It is getting close.
Register folks, help out the committee members who are working on this.

Actually I did the entire Power Tour on an extreme budget and had a blast - spending less than $100 a day including room, food, beer, - everything! Other than the $5 charge for the Corvette Assembly plant, I didn't go in any museum where you had to pay admission. Most nights it was pizza or burgers in the parking lot and Holiday Inn Express had limited breakfast most mornings. We really only stayed in the rooms from Midnight (or 1,2 AM) until about 6:30 or 7 most mornings.

I paid for the one restaurant meal in INDY and Bob Longstreth owed me a meal so at least I got fed well two nights!

I saw MUCH scarier sights on PT than Bob!
