We had a great turnout at the 2nd Annual Mopar vs Corvette Club Race Day. Four Prowlers joined in on the fun along with 200 other cars. And, Marty took 1st place in 5th Annual Prowler Drags with Lindsey taking Runnerup & Tami & I taking semifinalists... Marty's Stroker by Norm out ran my Paxton... I got beat by both him & Lindsey driving the stroker motor by Norm at Westech... Tami Fischer set a new (I believe) stock (without gears) record with a 14.62 something...
Joe was there to watch not race... All are on their way back home and I should be back tomorrow night and I'll post some pics Tuesday. Thanks to Marty, Tami, Joe, Lindsey for coming out to have some fun and helping the bebefit for Landon Robert. |

Laddie: I had an awesome time!! Thanks so much for putting such a great event together! Thanks everyone for the kudos - I had to look at the time slip twice just to make sure it was mine (Laddie is right - no gears) - The weather was overcast, fairly humid (but don't know the percentage) and in the high 60's. It started cooling off just before we ended the event. Laddie had a tremendous event. He didn't bother to tell anyone, but he took first place in the Grand Bayou Road Race - his car is awesome and he gave me a ride around the road race track when I got there on Saturday. Marty and Lindsey got in around 5:30 to the hotel and Laddie and I went to meet them, then we went on to the restaurant to have dinner with the rest of the Grand Bayou racers. Got to meet Laddie's partner in crime, Jimmy and his wife. Great couple! Laddie took Landon for a run down the quarter mile track during the drags. Landon had the choice of any car there (including the General Lee) to ride in and chose Laddie's red Prowler over all of the other 200 cars. I know that really made Landon's day. Laddie raised alot of money to help out very special young man. I'm not sure which now, but either Lindsey or Marty raced against the General Lee during the drags. Didn't have my camera out, so missed a good shot. I've posted a picture of Laddie and his first place plaque under Off Topic Thanks again Laddie for a fantastic weekend event!! Thanks Laddie, Melissa and I had a great time. I wish we would have got there earlier and brought a helmet so I could have raced. Will be back next year I hope to have the NX system working soon. It was interesting to see the how the stroker motor compared to a supercharged prowler. All in all it was a great event for a good cause. Thanks Laddie Marty: I enjoyed prowln back to Hattiesburg with you and Lindsey. If you get back down this way for crusin the coast let us know. Tami: It was great to meet you. |

Joe and Melissa: It was great meeting you two!! Make sure and come to some more events. I didn't know you didn't race because you didn't have a helmet - we could have hooked you up with one. They had extras in the tower. You two were great - hope to see you both again soon!! Tami |

Ed: There was a PT there that made it most of the way through eliminations - had a dial-in of 16.1. I didn't see a turbo charged badge on it - so don't know if it was or not - but they did really well. T |

Marty's car did amazing and that's not bad for a car with 100,000 miles on it, which it turned on the way down to LA. Waynew - Marty's car definitely wins the most miles award and it still looks great too!! It was Lindsey's first time on the track and she ran like she'd been doing it for years! T |

Laddie not only won the road race Saturday, organized the racing event for over 200 cars run on Sunday, but was waving the starting flag for the road course laps, and handing out throphies & plaques in between constant coordination on the radio and trying to run his car all at the same time! It was pretty cool as Tami said that the boy that the benefit was for picked Laddies car over all the other 200 cars to ride down the drag strip! It was really fun Laddie - thank you. Thanks to Laddie and Tami's encouragement Lindsay is now ready for more drag racing. She's already checking on when our local 1/8 mile track opens. She is really proud of her runner up plaque but mad that dear old Dad beat her by .01 seconds! Even though the hunidity kepts times a few tenths slower, Laddie's car and mine were running faster times than all the C4 and older Vettes and within 1 or 2 tenths of the C5s. Racing head's up against a C5 I was leading at the 1/8 mile mark and he beat me by about a car length at the end of the quarter. Hopefully next year we can get even more Prowlers there and show those Corvette guys something! This message has been edited by Marty Usher on 02-21-2005 at 01:48 PM |

CONGRATULATIONS to Tami & Marty... I know that Marty has removed his SSS muffler some time ago replacing it with some LARGER pipes with increased flow, but not sure about Tami. Tami... did you have the SSS installed when you set the record? You know that I, along with lots of SSS Customers are very interested, not to mention those "future" customers too. CONGRATULATIONS Y'all, Jay |
