Stock cat,,,,,,,,,,first race was with a bottle fed NSX. Knew better, but what the hell, couldn't resist. Blowin' away badly. The thrill of victory OR the agony of defeat. |

The one that a few people here saw was in Piegon Forge last year a guy in a new Supercharged Harley Truck with the window sticker still on it along with his buddys inside giving him hell, well not once but twice I kicked his butt between stop lights. ------------------ |

Two years ago at the 2nd Viper/Vette challenge in Marion, TX., I ran against a Hennessey 650 Venom Viper but lost by 1.4 seconds.. Still not bad for a V6 Prowler on the juice. I've run a Ford Lightning and he couldn't touch me. A Dodge 1500 with a 5.9 and it never got past me, no juice used. A number of Mustang GT's and the usual rice burners. Have raced and beaten a Mustang GT and a couple tuner cars. Also, raced with JD out in Wyoming ... I think we still have a grudge match coming - the silvers were to close to equal then...  |

Like CJ I have only truely raced the Prowler on the track against other Prowlers. However I was coming back from a show one evening pulling the trailer(loaded). I usually take off from lights pretty quick no matter what I am driving. A kid in a Honda tried to race me at one light. I didn't really race him but I did not let him get ahead of me either. I guess since I was pulling a tariler he thought he had a chance. I saw David Budner at a show this weekend. He told me recently he ran across a guy with a new Chevy SSR. The guy told David he wanted someting with more power and faster than a Prowler. David bet him $100 he could out run him. I think he told me by the time he reached third gear he had 6 Car lengths on the SSR. David said the guy wouldn't pay up. I think many people under estimate this car because it has a V6. |

Saw headlights approaching in rear view mirror. Kid in a '90 something Camaro finally caught up to and stayed next to me. At the light he jumped on it and I thought "what the heck". Had him beat by at least a car length and I let off; victory was in hand. He caught up to me again gave me a big thumbs up and hollered over "way to go,dude" |

Me, race?  At 1/8 mile track I had faster times than all seven Corvettes, 3 - Camaros, 5 Mustangs. 1 Viper with Paxton Novi 2000 Supercharger was two thousandths of a second quicker on street tires and a Blown Mustang was 7/10 faster with slicks. Heads Up racing at 1/8 mile track I beat a 2001 Camaro SS, a Mustang GT, a Trans AM and two Vettes - one was supercharged '81 or 82. That was with stock engine/headers and 150 HP shot of nitrous. On the street, the same supercharged Mustang was WAY faster from a rolling start and I did not have nitrous. Through first and second no one has pulled away from me from a stop light. STUPID racing - I beat BMW M5 from 70MPH start to 130MPH with nitrous. - Won't do that again! Stayed even with Mustang GT from 70 to 115 with no nitrous but with head and cam package on my engine (before the stroker motor) I'll stick to the track escept for an occassional first/second gear run on empty street. No more high speed stuff. |

Oh and I had an SSR at my shop for over a month and my guys said it looks like a VW truck with the top up. Don't get me wrong I like it but the Prowler still is the ONE. ------------------ |
