We are planning a cross Country trip with our 6 horse hitch of draft horses and wagon. We will be stopping in towns along the way @ Veterans centers and military bases to thank the Veterans and servicemen and women for their sacrifice to keep our great nation free. Please look at our website www.veteranshitch.com and let us know if you will help. Thanks Eric Lee |

We have the route planned from St. Louis, Mo to New York City. Starting at the arch and travelling along highway 50 out of St. Louis. We have the horses, wagon, harness, transport truck and trailer. We need funds to cover the daily expenses of a crew of 9 people and the horses. Thank You and God Bless the USA!

I'm a little too far South to help, but I wish you the best. I'm a Vet, and I think any thing that anyone does or can do to show support now, or thanks to any Vet is wonderful. Jim This message has been edited by Top Kat on 03-23-2004 at 10:09 PM |

I just wanted to voice what may be an offtopic opinion here, but judging from the last few polls there may be a few more owners like me out there... I'm a youngin (27) guy, and perhaps biased from many uncles who were in the service (Korea). I carry around that Selective Service card in my wallet wherever I go. I may not want to carry it, but by law I have to. I'm too young to remember the last time the draft was invoked and, frankly, if Selective Service was ever activated there's a strong chance I'd hightail it and move to Canada (or perhaps Mexico where I can at least get good tequila). I'm d**n proud of all of those boys and girls who volunteered to put themselves in harm's way. Whether politically you agree with what's going on in the world or not doesn't matter...everyone shoud feel like they need to support our troops. If it wasn't for them and their committment, it could very well be yourself, your son, your grandson, or whomever on the front lines. Regardless of our political differences, we should all be expressing our thanks for all of our troops who are willing to put their lives on the line and give them the same love and respect as if they were members of our own family, politics regardless. Let me know if there's anything a socal guy can do to help ed |

I agree that whether or not you support the war, at the very least, you should support the troops that are over there doing a job that they were given. No one ever wants to go to war. The facts are we are already there. The troops need to know that their country supports them. They believe in their country and their own freedoms and they are trying make sure we are able to keep ours. My son is in Special Operations. As a mother, I am so proud of him, but I also worry. We never know where he is going, what he is doing (very little, if any, communication with us), when he will be back...if he even comes back. He is fiercely loyal to his country and the job he does. He always says that the American people don't know everything and because of national security, shouldn't know everything, but he believes what they are doing is right..........and that's good enough for me. He's getting ready to go back out sometime soon. I visited him in for about 10 days the end of January and he was here on leave in early February. We had not seen him since May of last year. I thank God for every minute I've had with him because I don't know when I will see him again. So, please, support the troops and their families that are left behind. There was a rally cry of "United We Stand" after 9/11............let the troops know that we still stand united..........no matter what.

Thank you for all your encouragement for our trip! Sadly to say, we are going to have to postpone our trip until 2005. We have not received the financial support we had hoped for. I am sure that having the extra year to prepair for the trip that we will be able to make it happen. We know this is for a very worthwhile cause and we will not give up and "WE WILL NEVER FORGET THE VETERANS!" Thanks again Eric Lee |

So sorry to hear that! Unfortunately, with the economy the way it is, charity donations and the like are suffering. I hope that you will be able to fulfill your quest next year and I, personally, thank you for remember the Veterans and the troops that are currently deployed. |
