Interested in ordering a couple of these....quality, fit, finish, do they have the "RIGHT" look,.....the cars involved likely will never be wet, so leaks are not my top priority...just want nice pieces... are you happy with them ??? Would you purchase another one etc etc...thanks for your info...

Hardtop is great looking, good paint, improves sound inside but the seals over both doors absolutely suck. I've had to replace them once and re-glue them 4 times. Terrible.

Seals do indeed suck. Expect a little rattling over bumps from the top not really being part of the Prowler, it wiggles over bumps. Did that make sense?

WOW!, ER, Do you guys mean where the windows will go up to the top? Is there a fix, I guess I should ask Norb before I pay for mine I dont want anything thats going to cause me any grief. Also, any problems with where it sits on the deck,I already have some clear coat scratches from the rubber rubbing from the soft top I guess I am going to have big ones from this top. Lastley do you guys mind the fact that the head liner is done in a lighter color instead of a match to the inside? Thanks

If he's got a fix for the seals I'd like to hear about it......... Also you can't close the doors with the windows up. You need to lower them about an inch or the seals don't seat correctly. As far as the clear coat is concerned it will definitely wear on it. I took mine to the Chrysler dealer and they adjusted for free so that it won't rattle over bumps. However I've had to adjust it several times since but I will say 'it really looks great'. As far as the difference with the interior color it's really not noticeable but it could be darker.

Just a suggestion for where the soft or hard top rub on the deck lid. John Burns here in Denver had 3m film installed across that area of the deck lid to prevent scratchs.

Wow, maybe I should rethink the hard top, I don't have the time to hassle with latches, seals, rubbing ect. Hmmmm

I originally considered getting a Hardtop because the look is fantastic. And to be honest I was already leaning toward not buying one because living in the South I did not think I would use it that much. On the other hand I thought it might be nice to have for long trips because I usually run with the top up anyway and my soft top would stay clean. But reading this thread has me leaning more towards not to purchase one. Especially if you can't shut the doors with the windows rolled all the way up.
At nearly $3,000 the top should not have these kinds of problems.(JMO) It is really too bad because it really really looks good.

I've had a TGF top now for about 6 months now and am very satisfied with mine!

I've not had any problems with water leaks, or closing the doors. I did have a few rattles, but I got rid of those by making adjustments to the posts that snap into the rear deck holes.

The latches up front are the same as the ones on the convertible top and I could see how these might get damaged if they were too tight and difficult to snap closed. The latches are adjustable too and with a little time, you can find the proper fit.

For those of you still having trouble, I would contact Norb and ask him about the problems you're having. Perhaps they've made some production changes on the seals that would correct some of these problems.

I love the hardtop - the looks are fabulous, it does improve the acoustics tremendously and the interior looks great to me. I think it changes the look of the car entirely; makes the car look lower and wider.

However, the fit leaves something to be desired. I thought it was just me. The seals have come unglued and are dried up in some areas, which then prevents a decent seal at the windows. What is more annoying is that the darn thing does come loose at the rear deck....enough to rattle, which is annoying to say the least as well as I'm sure must do some damage to the clear coat. I've adjusted the pegs several times but they still loosen after driving a fair distance. I discussed this with one of our prowler guys, who happens to own a premier body shop here in Phoenix and he noted that any aftermarket tops, such as these, were going to have some little quirks. (He has had vipers for years.) At that point, I decided I wasn't in a rush (as most of you who know me realize that it takes me forever to get things taken care of anyway) so the top has been in my garage. Mine absolutely needs to have the seals replaced before it can go back on my car...I also want to look into something to protect the deck lid. And this time, I will take it to the body shop for fitting.

I am posting this, not as a complaint but as information. I have only read positive comments in the past about the hardtops so like I said, I thought it was just me being finicky.

And no, I don't want to get rid of it or sell it.

why frightening? I'm not trying to talk anyone out of the hardtop......I don't know if my experience is out of the ordinary or not. It seems to me that for most of the aftermarket products, there have been necessary adjustments that folks have had to make. Not for every single product or every single person, but plenty of adjustments, nonetheless.

I'm not trying to scare anyone either. However I think we need some serious help on the seals. I would think that the seals could be screwed on not just glued. Norb you got any ideas?

As to someones post about perhaps NEW Hardtops being BETTER, this is NOT the case! My hardtop was delivered a few months ago, towards the end of summer.

Not only did it take Norb (dildo) one YEAR to deliver it to me, when it WAS ready (by then I didnt even want it), they just charged my credit card and the top showed up.

Then, when it came with a paint chip, Norb didn't bother to return phone calls on fixing it. Same with seal problems, and alignment problems. Thankfully since I have a paint booth I had my painter respray the top and it looked great after.

For $3000, it's junk. I'm happy with my TFG rear valance, but the hardtop, junk junk. Looks sweet, but junk.

Oh yea, and they still haven't shipped a few pieces needed to setup the hardtop cradle, it's been months on that, shouldn't even bother anymore.

(Can anyone tell that I don't like TFG's service?)

my comments were ment as information to,i love the top,the looks, colour and how it looks like it is part of the whole car and not aftermarket, these are just a couple of nagging things that im sure will be sorted out eventually,i think the main reason for the rubber seals coming away,is that they dry up,because its stored and forgotten about, and then taken out maybe a couple of months a year, without a thought of treating the rubber before, during or after storage, just a thought.steve
