This is similar to a thread of a couple of days ago. Although it doesn't answer your question either.

I did not know that the Prowler Store hardtop window is Lexan.

One of the reasons I did this thru PM is because some members got mad at me thinking I was promoting the Prowler Store, which I wasn't. I covered all this info. on the post a hardtop in the classified section a while back. Go to that section as I've brought the thread to the top for you to review. OK?

From what I understand the prowlerstore hardtops are now made by a company called autoform out of mich. these are the same guys that made my shaker and they do a ton of really high quality hoods, fiberglass items etc for viper, challengers and Mopar stuff. I would think the quality should be pretty good. Never seen one to compare but they where great to work with on my project. I found a gen 2 TGF on Craigslist. Having a Hard top option is great

Recently purchased a Prowler Store hardtop. Unlike the previous packaging pictures I've seen (wooden crate, 185 pounds total weight, etc.), mine came in a huge cardboard box well wrapped in bubble wrap. The total package weighed 55 pounds which puzzled me at first (after everything I'd seen and read) but I got it just fine. (I never did understand why there had to be about 130 pounds or so of packing, crate and all, for something as light as the fiberglass top.) Anyway, I got it just fine and now I have to get it painted. I had to put that on hold temporarily since my wife gave birth to our daughter on May 2nd and I've been tied up doing other things like running around buying diapers and getting some sleep when I can. Sleep deprivation is a terrible thing.

When I bought my hardtop the Prowler Store was still showing the wooden crate made with studs and chipboard. It weighed in at 185 pounds as I remember since I was kind of wondering how I'd deal with that if UPS did a curb side drop off. At that time the shipping price shown was $495.00. Like I mentioned, when UPS freight contacted me I was surprised because the weight was 55 pounds so I wasn't quite sure what to expect. However, it came in a very large cardboard box and wrapped up with a lot of bubble wrap. I looked at the Prowler Store and now they've updated the discription for the shipping container (double cardboard box container) and reduced the shipping costs to $345.00. At the time they shipped mine, they must have been transitioning from the crate to the box and they did refund me the difference in shipping costs, so I can't complain. I'll check when I can access Paypal to give you a dollar figure (can't get through the firewall here at work).
