Was it in Colo? or has there been a larger gathering in Cal? Last week the guy at Autozone told me he had never seen one up close since he had lived in Cal. and most people were afraid to buy them due to the open wheel setup. He said there are a lot of expressway walls and no one was buying them. They were afraid of hitting the walls and losing a wheel. I thought that rated right up there with some of the lines the dealers use. I guess there are only a couple in Texas, too. Probably most of the Prowlers are in N. Dakota and Vermont! |

Larry Lords "Boyds Tour" was the largest ever in California for a one day gathering. I took pics of that event and have a link on my banner below. Later... ------------------ |

If I remember correctly, I believe that we counted 68 Prowlers that went on the cruise on Friday of the Colorado event. |

Larry had posted that the past weekend winery event had 70 cats scheduled to attend, which if it happened would be the largest cat event attended. Maybe the alcohol was flowing and nobody got a count ?? Having attended both the California Boyd's Tour in the spring and the 2002 National Prowler Colorado event in June, I can assure you the Colorado event had the most Prowlers gathering and cruising together. Both, awesome events to attend Montana, N. Dakota, and Mississippi have the most cats. Ed - Could you drive to Alaska and get a count for us? Can Fixum spell Mississippi in one try? ------------------

I would be willing to bet that the CO event at 68 was the most Prowlers that have actually cruised together as apposed to gathering at a destination. |

Colorado was probably it. I seem to remember about 57ish Kats at the Boyd's event and yesterday at the winery we had about 35, which all things considered is a pretty darn good car count... |

We need to have 75 or more Kats at the Tenn 2003 National Event. Not just because it's in the East, but we have to keep getting bigger and better every year. I dream of a National Event with 1000 Prowlers attending. Wouldn't that be something. Well like I said it's a dream. |

To answer the question to how it was asked in the topic thread,,,,,,,,the answer will be either of the Woodward Dream Cruise events, as there was probably 300 - 400 cats sitting in the holding tank at CAAP. They were there, just didn't have owners yet! I really thought the 2002 Colrado event would draw 80 - 100 owners. We fell alittle short,,,,,,maybe the economy, maybe job layoffs, etc. Think Marc said we had 8 to 10 no-shows who had paid to attend? |

Just off the top of my head JD, Rudy and Wayne(TX) were signed up, but were unable to make CO. That would have been 71. |

CJ is right. Friday we had 68 cars and for the Golden carshow on Saturday 67 cars. I am still running into people that saw us at the carshow Saturday and couldn't believe that many Prowlers were in one place. Records are meant to be broken but don't forget EVERY prowler gathering (from 2 to ?) is the most fun you can have within the law. |

quote: Hey Alley Cat! You trying to start a war? Our largest SoCal gathering so far was the Boyd's Shop Tour but to be honest I don't recall how many were there. 59 I think. Might have been 56 or 58. Hard to tell when a few are driving in and out during the day. Maybe sonmeone else knows the count and will chime in. Like Marc says, it really doesn't matter since no matter how many show, we all still have a great time. Just for the record though, Colorado has to be the largest so far. Congrats to Marc, CJ, Alex and Laddie for the outstanding event. Who had the Gold car that showed up late? Ted Brunell, was that you? I wasn't trying to start a debate or a contest but I knew that one of Larry's events had a bunch of cats. I was just curious. I have a thing about numbers, in general. Now that we have that all cleared up, what is your guesstimate of how many will show up in TN next year. I think we will come very close to 100 Prowlers. Two years ago I had only seen one other Prowler in Cincinnati. Now I know of at least 15. I think almost all of those 15 will be in Tenn. I think anyone east of the Mississippi that made any of the past western events will be there and I think a lot of the east coast people who have never been able to make it out west will also make it a point to be there. Add in the fact that we have a lot more people tuning into the POA all of the time and I think we have the formula to get 100 cats together. I hope so, anyway. |

Marty, I think we need to look closely at the huge complex in Townsend. It is 20 miles from Pigeon Forge but away from all the hubbub. It will be easy to get in and out. |

Lord of Wisdom - I hope you will accept my full, sincere apology for misreading your post and incorrectly stating that number. My error,,,,,,I am sorry for misleading the association on this event. I stand corrected.....................AC The spring So-Cal Boyd's event had 58 or 59 attendees, as I remember. Catwoman was in charge of parking and counting,,,,,where is she? I was incharge of cleaning Boyd's restroom! Why did the Arizona delegation get the crappy jobs??? |

Larry - Thanks for accepting my humble apology! I've been around Ed so long, that I'm beginning to enjoy crappy jobs Boyd's red and black restroom was the neatest one I've ever passed gas inside,,,,,,,it was a true beauty! Even the lady Prowlers were impressed with its super clean status. Thanks for keeping that rowdy So-Cal group together! Ed - MikeK has hired Mike Gatlin to clean the museum johns, sell tickets, clean/detail the cats, and do event videos. My duties will include public relations, P & L, customer service, future museum projects, and feeding/grooming their two dogs! I may even have to sleep with the dogs? No problem, as I have probably slept with worse |
