As AC, David, and Steve chided me on another post my saga of the Hard Luck Award (much appreciated) does continue. While taking Route #66 extensively on our return trip and seeing the many "loose gravel" signs along the road. I received about 6 small chips in the windshield. A week later one of those tiny little chips became a large crack. Each day it grows a little larger. A souvenir of the famous Route #66 and the Vegas trip. |

Bruce,,,sorry about your vacation trip troubles,,,,and 'we' shouldn't joke about it. You can blame Monahan and Steve for making your mis-adventures, public..... If I was you, I'd delete them off your Christmas mailing list, lol |

Bruce good move putting that decal on the crack.LOL Several more and you won't even see the crack. Sorry about the windshield, but bad things happen when you hang with ED. |

Regardless of my adventure problems I wouldn't trade the trip for anything. My car could never qualify as a garage queen in showroom condition...but when going down the highway at 70mph no one would know the diiference! The car and I had a blast. By the way AC, Ed Monahan, David Sabel and Steve Clark have never been on my Christmas list. However, you are safe and I have two mirror covers already wrapped. |

That was an excellent comeback, I agree. I wasn't present for the windshield problem, sorry to hear about that one. That sucks. I have to second what Bruce said, the trip out was the most fun out of all the Prowler adventures. The left turn onto Woodward was the ONE BEST few minutes, for sure and will never be topped but the 5 day trip was really a lot of fun for 5 days. We had a lot of laughs and I am really glad we got to do it with friends. |

Bruce, I am truly sorry for being insensitive, Carol told us you were unstable. Please don't set any bus on fire because of me. Vegas will never be the same since you were there.LOL |

Bruce can delete me from any of his lists as I know where he lives and will continue just to show up at his front door when I am in town! Of course, and he knows it, I would rather see Carole than him anytime. Bruce..unstable?...no comment. This message has been edited by Y2KRedProwler on 06-29-2012 at 07:15 AM |

hope you have glass coverage, a mopar w/s is very very costly.there is a diff. between a fact mopar w/s and a a/m w/s if you want a mopar you will have to specify it,if it doesnt have the mopar penastar stamp in the lower center, its not a mopar.whats the diff you ask.strength and thickness. ------------------ |

Jan, thanks for your input. I have not contacted insurance or sought a replacement windshield yet. It is like a battlefield injury and I like telling my Route #66 story that goes with it. Eventually I will have to replace it. I have had Hagerty Classic Car Insurance ever since I purchased the car. I believe I have a $500 deductible. a mopar w/s is about a 1000.00 list.most people have 0 deduct or at the most 100.00 on glass.dealers do not usually stk w/s,so it may have to be ordered from mopar. ------------------ |

I finally called the insurance company today about the windshield that cracked in May. He said call a local glass company (Siemers) and get it repaired. You will be covered for costs? I called at 2pm and they wanted to know if I could bring it in at 8am as they have an OEM in stock. Unbelievable! |

Glad to hear that Bruce. I personally was worried that Carole might get hurt from you driving with a cracked windshield! |

I just had an OE windshield installed in my Kat. The cost installed was $865.40 including 2.3 hours and taxes. Funny thing is I waited with the car and was there for less than two hours. The insurance company did pick up the tab on this one. |

David. Thanks for asking. Like Andria said it takes less than two hours and done. The installation went easy but I was unable to watch the repair...insurance reasons. |
