12PROWLER | I'm looking in to installing a Hid light conversion however, I have seen so many it can be confusing as to which ones to get. LED verses HID,I believe the output on the color diamond white is about 6000k...any links, leads, pictures would be appreciated. The color I'm aiming for is a white color kinda like the Lexus, beamers,Mercedes have..again any leads would be appreciated..thanks..oh also the halo eyes as well.. |

padroo | After having a bad experience with HID headlights in a Toyota I would never have them again. |
Stroker | I compare HID headlite conversions to glasspak mufflers of my generation. The difference is our stuff didn't dazzle oncoming drivers and cause accidents. Owners of new trucks complain they don't reach out as good as older stuff. Read that in Hot Rod magazine. Check on how legal these conversions are. They need to be controlled beam to be legal. Can they be adjustable can they be aimed with the equipment available today? |

I bought my 2008 Toyota Prius new and it was the best car I ever owned. I traded it in on another Prius in November. The HID headlights were the number one problem with that Prius. They kept going out and they wanted $300 per bulb at one time. I had the first two changed under warranty. Then a ballast went out and they were mounted inside the bottom of the headlight assembly and they don't swim very well and short out. So far the new Prius came with LED headlights and so far so good but it's too early to tell and who knows what they will cost to replace. I just looked on Amazon the HID bulbs are only $61 each now.

12PROWLER | I appreciate everyone's feedback and I believe I have enough info from everyone's links and comments. I just want to add a step up from the dull Hologen lights however, I don't want to be blinding on coming traffic as well. I look at getting a hid light set that has a more direct center focal point then one blares light at a 180 degree angle. Again thanks for all the information and comments everyone in this association shares.. This message has been edited by 12PROWLER on 02-19-2018 at 12:11 PM |
mslc10 | I had the hid conversion but when you switch to high beam they took time to “warm up” . Bad news with all the deer here. “LEDs did not project out far enough but they were only 30p0 lumen I think . I posted a thread ,I’ll see if I can find it. |

kayaksrfr1069 | I have Kensun 8000K 30W slim HIDs installed, very easy to install and really light up the road. Also added 6000K switchback LED turn signals I picked up from eBay: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00802FCZS/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 http://www.prowleronline.com/ubb/image_uploads/20171230_182037.jpg |
